'Nelson' Twin Sued for Trash-Talking Nightclub

2/19/2011 10:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Former '90s glam rocker Gunnar Nelson just got sued by a smalltown Virginia club owner ... who claims the singer blasted him in the press for no reason ... and destroyed his business in the process.

It's all over an interview Nelson gave on last August -- two years after performing at Jaxx nightclub in Springfield, VA -- in which the singer calls the venue the "lowpoint" of his career ... and insists the owner still owes him $8,000 for his performance.

Now, club owner Jay Nedry is firing back -- suing Nelson for over $25,000 ... claiming the singer's "irrational, untrue, and slanderous diatribe" in the interview is not only entirely false ... it's completely defamatory.

According to the lawsuit filed in L.A. County Superior Court this month, Nelson's allegations "have had a great negative impact upon Nedry's personal and business reputation, as well as that of Jaxx Nightclub by deterring persons from dealing with him individually and the club."

Nedry is also suing the reporter who wrote the article containing the interview -- claiming she never checked her facts.

Perez Hilton printed on his blog that the cocaine in LiLo's car belonged to Sam Ronson. He had no proof of that and Sam was never charged with a crime so technically she was completely innocent.

She sued Perez for slander and or defamation and he won. It's his right to freedom of speech as a (cough) journalist. So how can this Jay guy (or anyone) sue? Going by the logic of the judge in Sam's case anyone can say whatever they want whenever they want even if it is complete lies.

There's a problem here

... because everybody knows that America hangs on every word ... what's his name? Oh yeah, Gunnar Nelson, says. That's what he gets from working in a "club" across from a Whole Foods Market and a Lutheran church. Next!

If something that Gunnar Nelson said ruined your nightclub, chances are it wasn't much in the first place. So obviously now you are just trying to get attention and it is pretty pathetic that anyone is giving it to you for a Nelson brother.

"Former glam rocker"...???? When?? Those boys never did anything but go on lame daytime talk shows with his and swing their hair around. They have always been a joke. They work on cruise ships for bluehairs who kinda know they are Ozzie & Harriett's grandkids. Quick, name one of their 'hits' ha ha ba ha ha Their Dad only had one, 'gardenparty' and it sucked balls.

What do you expect from Springfield, Va??? Its the redneck capital of the Northern Va area-like it or lump it. I don't enjoy driving through it on the way to DC, much less performing there....

Springfield is a northern Virginia suburb. I think a lot of people probably look at it as south Alexandria, so I wouldn't necessarily call it small... Jaxx, however, is the kind of place where up and comers and "I had this huge hit in the 90s..." types go to pay the rent. You can always count om the Stevie Nicks wannabe spinning away in the corner to keep you amused even it the band doesn't. It is, what it is.

Let's see...Nelson ruined Jaxx rep...what's the excuse for Nedry's ruin of Sully's? The man can't manage a decent club to save his life. So far, he's blown 2 promising venues in Northern Va.

Not suprising to hear. Every band in the biz knows to steer clear of that place. Im sure it lawsuit will be thrown out. There are more than enough bands to testify on Gunners behalf
