Lindsay Lohan wants to jumpstart her career now that she's out of rehab and ready to work -- and TMZ has learned, her first step was to dump her old agent ... and sign with someone else.
According to sources close to Lindsay, she cut all ties with her former agency CAA a couple weeks ago -- telling friends it was the best way to start fresh.
Linds is currently in talks with WME -- another powerhouse agency -- and already has members of Britney Spears' current management team in her pocket, including Larry Rudolph and Lou Taylor.
And if Britney can do it ...
