D.A. Gets Financial Help From Oksana's Lawyer

3/3/2011 11:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

L.A. County District Attorney Steve Cooley -- whose office will soon decide the fate of Oksana Grigorieva and Mel Gibson -- attended 2 fundraisers on his own behalf at the home of the lawyer who negotiated Oksana's $15 million settlement ... which is the core of the extortion investigation.

0301-steve_george_EX

TMZ has learned Eric George, a prominent Beverly Hills civil lawyer, hosted both campaign fundraisers last year, while the L.A. County Sheriff's Department was conducting its investigation.

And documents reveal ... George contributed more than $8,000 to Cooley in 2010 ...  of that, George contributed $1,992 in August ... while the Sheriff's investigation of Oksana was going full bore ... we do know, however, George has had a long-standing friendship with Cooley and has made contributions to him in the past.

As TMZ first reported, George negotiated a $15 million package for Oksana during her mediation in May, 2010.  Law enforcement sources tell us ... Sheriff's investigators believe there's "strong evidence " that Oksana extorted Mel by threatening to release the explosive tapes unless she got the money.

TMZ broke the story that the D.A.'s office disagrees with Sheriff's investigators and has all but decided not to prosecute Oksana, but we're told Mel Gibson will be charged with misdemeanor domestic violence.

And we've learned ... Cooley has been involved -- holding a meeting in his office in December to review the case, though a D.A. spokesperson says no decisions were made during that meeting.

There is grousing among some people in law enforcement -- especially in the Sheriff's Department -- that Cooley should have completely removed himself from the decision-making process given the fundraisers and contributions from George.

George had no comment to TMZ, but a Sheriff's spokesperson has told us the only person under investigation in the extortion matter is Oksana.

Although sources tell us the die has already been cast, a D.A. spokesperson tells TMZ ... prosecutors will make a filing decision "very soon" and Cooley likely will not participate -- because he's about to go on a long-standing, out-of-town vacation for a week and a half.

The spokesperson would not say whether Cooley would make the filing decision if he's back in town when his deputies make their recommendation.

It's available in my area. This is what it is.

The "favor" Ted Kennedy did for Mel Gibson’s Russkie hottie Oksana!

Oksana Grigorieva , the seductress who’s been playing not-so-secret house with Mad Mel Gibson and mothered a child by 007 Timothy Dalton can count a political big shot on her score card as well- Sen. Ted Kennedy!

A concert pianist by trade the brunette bombshell met Kennedy in Washington, D.C. a few years back at a Bill Clinton fund raiser.

Six weeks later her parents in Russia attempted to get a visa to see their grandchild, Alexander, but were denied.

“They were refused because they said the father was Timothy Dalton -007- and the authorities thought they were trying to scam them,” a source revealed.

A desperate Oksana went to Teddy for help. The visa was soon granted.

There is a simpler solution that atropine drops. In Dr. Gordon's declaration, he stated he'd never seen her before, this was her first visit to him.

The lazy eye is a pre-existing condition. In some pictures of Miss Oksana you can even see her eyes not quite centered.

That's why she went to a doctor who didn't know her medical history and complained of concussion symptoms.

Curious
Mel would have noticed her lazy eye, and I don't think he would have liked it. A plain "lazy eye" is different from a pathology that the doctor describes. Dropping a few drops in the eye when millions are at stake is no big deal. You can't get the drops here but you can easily have them in Russia, especially that she has "friends" in the right places. Concussion is VERY easy to simulate. Only a CT scan can determine if there is actual concussion which she never made, even though she claimed she had to stay in bed for a "month"! Well, we know she didn't anyway. She showed off with Mel in public.

V,

A little more info on Cotchett corruption: He is the poison core that reproduces more bad apples in the legal profession than any other. He has his hands in more scandals and cover ups, interesting enough, it appears he has a full time staff that keeps abreast on negative comments about him on the internet. Seems like he is a man who likes hiding behind the curtain. If you want more info on this man, please reply to this comment.

"In fact, bringing those who cross the line to justice was the topic of discussion for a panel entitled, "Enforcement Options: How Can We Hold Those Responsible Accountable?" Featured on the panel was Joseph W. Cotchett, who said the problem is not just about corporate executives who commit fraud, but those who have the power to stop it, and yet allow it to happen.
"We're not all bad apples, but (the problem is that) we're not going after the bad apples," said Cotchett, who suggested that generally, the legal and accounting professions have allowed corporate fraud to "get out of hand." He added, "You cannot let people in today's society walk free without taking some responsibility." Putting offenders behind bars is what "will restore corporate integrity and public trust," suggested Mr. Cotchett. "Consumers, investors, employees, the media: They are all going to judge us and we'd better be prepared."

Either Jack McConnell’s law firm Motley Rice was totally oblivious to the FACT that Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy were in the FINAL stages of securing ACORN a seat next to them at the negotiating table or McConnell lied during his confirmation hearing (see transcript below)

Court do***ents show that the petitioners, California counties and cities, had not only hired Jack McConnell’s firm, Motley Rice, but also "Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy" (and others) to represent them against the paint companies (interestingly, the Santa Clara County counsel who initiated the lead paint case was appointed by the Obama administration to the Justice Department last year).

Not only did Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy give over $10,000 to ACORN's Project Vote, they were ACORN's own attorneys. The connection between Motley Rice, ACORN and Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy is crystal clear in a reference here from page 31 of a 2006 report by ACORN.

MEL's VERY DEMANDING RUSSKIE
Trading in the old ball-and-chain for a younger trophy wife ain't gonna be all champagne and caviar, as aging MEL GIBSON discovered when his Kremlin kutie OKSANA GRIGORIEVA publicly snarked about the star's balding pate - AND revealed his hair-raising secret as shocked guests snickered at a swanky party in Malibu.

Chatting with a pal on a balcony, Oksana, who's 14 years younger than baby-daddy, looked down and suddenly got a bird's-eye gander at his emerging bald spot. Gasping, she yelled down to Mel, and after getting his attention - and everyone else's - pointed pointedly at her own head and trilled: "Darling...you need to get more hair implants!"

Say what? MORE implants?! (How's that for a scoop, folks?) I'm pleased to report that love-smitten Mel, who turned beet-red and grinned awkwardly to, er -cover up his embarrassment, did NOT throw a beer can at the future Missus G.

He turned back to his friends and started babbling about how the Russian sexpot has pushed him into a new diet-and-exercise (-and hair implant?) routine designed to boost energy and keep him looking youthful.

"It's all very tiring," Mel told his pals, flashing the weak grin of a guy who knows he's not The Boss anymore. "I hope it's all worth it in the end."

Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back. Let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a sole from death and cover a multitude of sins. James 5:19,20

I don't remember the other verse that says that whoever allows evil to happen and failed to stop it is just as guilty as the one who had done the evil.

Mel, you could have rented an ass that did not want to become pregnant by you for a lot less than what you are having to pay this grifter.
But that is water under the bridge. Do what you must do through the courts to get her out of your life once and for all. Take your wife Robyn's advice and head for your ranch in Australia and decompress.
