Warner Bros. to Charlie:

Here's Why You're Fired

3/7/2011 8:25 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has obtained a letter Warner Bros. sent to Charlie Sheen's lawyer, stating Charlie was being terminated because he committed a felony involving "moral turpitude."

Charlie Sheen Termination Letter
In the 11-page letter, obtained from sources connected to Charlie, Warner Bros. states, "Your client has been engaged in dangerously self-destructive conduct and appears to be very ill."

The letter then goes on to describe Charlie's hijinks, including trashing the Plaza Hotel in NYC, coke binges, on-set failures because of drug fatigue, and diatribes against "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre.

The letter also notes that Charlie derailed production when he went into rehab, and then he fired his sobriety coach.  In fact, Warner Bros. claims it was so concerned about Charlie's well-being, "Warner Bros. had an airplane waiting" to take him to a treatment facility ... but Charlie would have none of it.

As for why Charlie got fired, the letter says there is a clause in his contract saying they can fire a performer who commits "a felony offense involving moral turpitude."

The letter says, "There is ample evidence supporting Warner Bros. reasonable good faith opinion that Mr. Sheen has committed felony offenses involving moral turpitude (including but not limited to furnishing of cocaine to others as part of the self-destructive lifestyle he has described publicly) that have 'interfere[d] with his ability to fully and completely render all material services required' under the agreement."

In short, that's why Charlie was fired.

Charlie's lawyer, Marty Singer, has demanded Warner Bros. pay Charlie for the eight canceled episodes -- or else.

Warner Bros. seems undaunted by the threat, even reserving its right to take legal action against Charlie.

If Charlie had been facing, or convicted, of any felony charges involving moral turpitude, when they fired him, that might be believable. But he wasn't!

Instead, when he was facing charges for domestic abuse and violence last year, they decided to sign him to a new contract!

The producer is already on record stating that he based the premise of the show on Charlie Sheen's life. They've been making millions for many years by making vulger jokes, glamorizing Charlie's Sheen's total lack of morals, and now they're trying to take the moral high ground? Because Charlie Sheen's exactly the person they've been telling us he was for all these years?

And, all of a sudden, now they have a problem with it?

For those anxiously waiting for Charlie Sheen's financial ruin? Just so you know, he gets paid "residual income" every time one of his shows is rerun, and here's "Two and a Half Men" is rerun on various channels at least 7 times a night. He's probably making far more off them, then he was off the current season anyway, and will continue doing for, for many years to come.

Y do these celebrities feel that they are entitled to things that normsl everyday people are not entitled to. CS is a alcoholic, a cokehead, he publicly trash his boss and he thinks he should get paid, c'mon. A non-celebrity would have been thrown out of there work place on their @$$ from day one, but CL and WB gave him every chance. I say good riddance charlie

Dear Gearge Clooney.
IF that was really you posting a comment then I would like to advice YOU to reconsider evrything and YOU re-read the clause paperwork. Yes the Guy is sick and probably has been overly acting out for some time. But many issues come ito play here including yes the ADA with also HIPPA involvement here. W. B. played there part untill they were advised by attorneys, when and how to react...this was a board-game and all new it. sorry to say that this ill man does have a problem, but they knowing allowed it to continue and produced and made money off of him and HIS audience...not W>B> audience. I am an attorney and can tell you that in the end this will end up in not in court but by mediators and sorry but "Crazy Charlie does have a case"...whether anyone will admit to that or not. i would doubt that it was actually you posting anything but should it have been, the wording you refer to is very vague and interputered by who ever chooses to choose a side. "Big-Time" attorney will have as we say "a nutshell" with this will be the big winners, but Charlie must get help and prove due diligence in acquiring so. The man needs help and remember, he is an "actor"...some of this ranting is acting....it's his nature and all he knows in responses. His supporters will always be out there and I for one will not be surprized by how quickly this will be shut down behind closed doors, as the custody agreement was done so quickly also. She ( ex ) was not innocent in way shape or form and he has many many holding on her that is not being published, she she is shutting up too.
I do not believe he is ruined and someone will pick him up and start anew...after he has got a handle on his life and behavior. I welcome your response....but please You re-read the contract. best to you and all just pray that Charlie's family and attorneys will guide him in the right way and tell him to now to just shut the hell up. Enough has been said..anymore will continue to make him look worse. By the way, I adore you and your acting ability and you deserve all given to you in appreciation of your work.
thanks to all.

This show is Charlie Sheen - they created a show based loosely on Sheens real life antics, maded tonnes of money - now they want to fire him because his real life is larger than the show. Anyone who takes on this roll other than Charlie will be committing career suicide. No one can replace him because he is the show. Take him back or cancel the series!!

Peeps, you're missing the point here. This isn't just about substance abuse or morality clauses or name calling or defaulting on a contract ... this man is seriously mentally ill. An extremely entertaining train wreck to watch, yes, but deeply disturbed nonetheless.

How many people out there have ever had to deal with drug additions? Melt downs,or hit rock bottom from combination's of the above? it's a bitch. What gives us the right to hate.Support systems and family are great. But not alway's wanted. It takes along time to detox, depending on the drug of choice. That people use.I hope in the future He comes out stronger because of it plenty of material to write about.I know from experience that melt downs and drug addictions are tough. It takes you to hell and back and it's a long and winding road to getting better. I hope He finds his way back. Everyone needs a new day and second and third chances. God bless charlie and his children.

I feel no one has the right to comment about Charlie's personal life. Not one of us writing has ever been part of his personal life, therefore none of us should be commenting. I only wrote because I felt that Warner Bros. was taking the issue of being his employer and trying to control his personal life. I don't feel any employer has the right to dictate what one does after hours, as long as you come to work and perform your job - your employer has no say beyond that - and that includes Warner Bros. or any other multi billion dollar employer!! Don't be surprised if this is another "Joaquin Phoenix" hoax!! I would'nt put it passed him.

What people doesn't seem to realize is that Warner are in breach - they really are. They actually have zero basis on which they could stand in court against Sheen. So there's more than a good chance they'll end up paying him the rest of his contract, plus lawyers fees over this... and lose a whole lot more millions since their #1 show is now dead.

I feel so bad for the other actors of the show, out of a job because of train wreck charlie. he can be and I hope he is replaced. worked his a** off ? I thought he just acted like himself? I also feel bad for the network and all the behind-the-scenes people that had to put up with the crazy warlock! I bet they can relax now that they do not have to see him daily, but now they have to put up with his rants in court! he can't get better till he understands he has a big problem!I hope they replace him soon, and he can just disappear, but the loudmouth will keep making himself heard, even when people don't want to hear it anymore, that's sad. I hope he does get help, or it wil not end well for him. Charlie Sheen, stop thinking you can fly!

If Charlie overdosed and died...like, Elvis, or Marilyn, or Belushi, or Phoenix or 100 others....then everyone would point the finger at Warners and say "Why didnt you intervene??? why didnt you force him into rehab?? why didnt you hold up the show if you had to for him to get help??!!! why did you ignore his problem?? Its your fault, you greedy corporation, you ignored the cries of a man obviously screaming for help!!!!

So Warners does the right thing, and almost 30% of the voters dont agree with them. Thats VERY scary.

I'm glad Charlie got fired. Hopefully no one else with hire him and he'll go broke, get humbled and get the help he so desperately needs. You can even tell on the reruns how his looks changed. He used to look human but toward the end he looked dead. or like a vampire or something.
