Ja Rule -- I'm Going to Prison!

3/9/2011 3:30 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Ja Rule doesn't just have his summer planned out ... he's got the next few years on lock -- because once June rolls around, he'll be serving a very long prison sentence ... for having a loaded gun in his car.

The judge in the case set Ja's sentencing date for June 8 -- where the rapper will get two years in the big house stemming from a traffic stop back in 2007 ... when cops found a loaded semi-automatic gun in his sports car.

As we previously reported, Ja pled guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon back in December -- and agreed to serve two years for the offense.

Livin' it up.

Just possessing a firearm, in New York, is a felony? I see no need to make a distinction between loaded and unloaded, as an unloaded firearm does a person no good. I do have issue with people becoming felons for simply possessing a firearm.

Is this man a felon that was in possession of a firearm? If that is the case, then ok. People convicted of felonies against another should never own or possess a firearm. If this man is not a felon, then this is a little ridiculous.

I carry a "loaded" firearm with me; everywhere I go. Of course, I live in Georgia, and not the pinko, commie states of New York, Kalifornia, Illinois, or (soon to be changed) Wisconsin; I do not get the violent reaction that people experience with firearm possession.

Law-abiding citizens that carry firearms, or other weapons, are your friend. We exist to help when law enforcement is too far away to respond in a reasonable period of time. You may choose to not carry a firearm, but that does not mean you get to make that choice for the rest of us.

Armed citizens are good' armed criminals are not.

Conservatives are Cowards

He'd be better off if he just smacked women around like Mel Gibson or Chris Brown do. How many days did either of them spend in jail again, you know...for actually DOING harm to another person?

@Montezuma: LOL! Get over yourself pal. I didn't hear about any of you CCW white knights saving the day in Arizona, in spite of the fact that AZ has some of the most lax gun laws in the US. Your rhetoric might make for nice hyperbole, but as we saw, it does not translate into reality. You people are much tougher in your own minds than you are in real life.

Well, while in prison maybe he'll have the time to write some lyrics of more than one syllable.
