Lindsay's Jewelry Store -- AUCTIONING the Necklace

3/9/2011 11:48 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The $2,500 necklace that Lindsay Lohan allegedly stole from a jewelry store is officially hitting the auction block ... TMZ has learned.

Lindsay Lohan Necklace Auction
A rep for the Kamofie and Co. jewelry store announced, "We have decided to sell the diamond necklace through auction, and give the proceeds to charity."

As for the specific charity -- the rep states, “We invite the public to make suggestions as to the most appropriate charity to receive the benefit of the sale’s proceeds."

According to the rep, the auction will not take place until AFTER the criminal case is resolved "by plea bargain, or trial or some other means."

The necklace is currently being held as evidence by the L.A. County District Attorney.

Cool Breeze the answer to your question is simple. Because Charlie, unlike your idol Lindsay, doesn't go around the globe on a chronic 3-year stealing spree. When Sheen wants something he actually PAYS for it form money he earned.

WOW, what a concept that somehow fails to enter the numbskulls of a Lohan fanboy.

@ lori

she won't be going to jail tomorrow. even if she takes a plea, the judge has already said there would be another court date for the formal sentencing where she would turn herself in.

I lol'd

I'm consistently amazed by all the posts about how "cheap" the necklace looks or how it "isn't worth $2500". Uhhhh newsflash! Something is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. You think those Jordan's you wear are "worth" $200 in materials? They probably cost a dollar to make in a sweatshop in Indonesia. You think that Versace dress you love is worth $5000 in materials? Use your damn brain people.

Looks more and more like a set up to me.

As I've stated previously... the designer of the necklace is Pratima Sethi and the line is called Sethi Couture. You can find it at many boutique jewelry stores throughout the nation. Here is a link to a necklace very similar to the one that Lindsay stole, and as you can see, this jeweler in Texas sells it for $2409.00

charity? good idea! now instead of a necklace why don't they give to Charity the money for the tapes too? THAT would be nice and people will appreciate, if they give to charity the necklace only then everybody will understand that's too little money and they do it for publicity. no? LOL losers

Lindsay is so over-rated, and such a has-been old news item, I'd think they were REALLY hoping for a lot out something that probably won't bring much...

lemme say it again: give to charity the money from the TAPERS and keep the money of the necklace.

and again : GIVE to charity the money of the TAPES, not the necklace. I wanna make my point clear.

what do you think that we are all stupid?

Good grief it's such a relief to see something on this website that isn't about that nutjob Sheen....

The owners of the jewelry store are unbelievabe fame whores. First they sell the video for financial gain and now they will auction the necklace for charity, lol this is ALL for shameless publicity. Sorry store owners, you have proved yourselves to be dispicable attention seeking money grabbing crooks. There will be no favourable publicity for them from this, just the public seeing you for what you are, slithering slugs.

If I were a store owner and I saw Lindsay Lohan in the doorway, I would close immediately. Immediately. Anyone that comes in contact with her can find themselves smeared by her.

What's with all the haters spewing hate over a store they've never been to and over a necklace they've never even seen?
