A rep for the Kamofie and Co. jewelry store announced, "We have decided to sell the diamond necklace through auction, and give the proceeds to charity."

As for the specific charity -- the rep states, “We invite the public to make suggestions as to the most appropriate charity to receive the benefit of the sale’s proceeds."

You are SO right, there should be a new law that shop owners have to run after thieves to retrieve stolen goods. Maybe they should carry mace and guns with them too? And police dogs! And handcuffs! And, hey, we should lock them up if they don't run after thieves, right? Wow, what a GREAT idea -- hee hee.

The owners have already stated elsewhere that it's a piece of evidence right now and can't be auctioned off (or given to the winner) until AFTER the trial.

So how about Duck Lips goes ahead and auctions off something that she owns too, for charity? Oh, wait, that's right, you could never prove that she actually owned it, nevermind.

Can sombody give a reasonable explanation why the jewlery store is not allowed to profit off of the tape and the necklace, the last i hear we live in a country that allows people and companies to sell goods and services for PROFIT. It was not Illeagal to sell the survelliance tape the DA is still moving ahead with her case she is not backing down the only person worried is lindsay I wonder why.

@ susan,
Honey, you may want to read the comments on here and other blogs, and you will see that very few people agree with your delusional opinion that "Sorry store owners, you have proved yourselves to be dispicable attention seeking money grabbing crooks. There will be no favourable publicity for them from this, just the public seeing you for what you are, slithering slugs".

Wake up, you're on the losing side. Nobody made LL walk out of that store with their jewelry without paying for it. Nobody made her KEEP that necklace for days, KNOWING SHE DIDN'T PAY FOR IT.

Get it now, Babe?????

how do you know the blond chick does not have a past? have you checked with the same microscope you view Lindsey with? also, i did read that the phone records show the store did not contact lindsey. also, of all the "theiving" that she has been accused of, that is exactly what they are, accusations.where are the convictions for theft? again, fame whore bandwagon syndrome. and by the way whoever posted about the "upscale" store is right. look at the low class decor. the big fan in the corner, stains on the floor, sales clerk in jeans. i reitterate, fame whore bandwagon.

The owners of the jewelry store are unbelievabe fame whores. First they sell the video for financial gain and now they will auction the necklace for charity, lol this is ALL for shameless publicity. Sorry store owners, you have proved yourselves to be dispicable attention seeking money grabbing crooks. There will be no favourable publicity for them from this, just the public seeing you for what you are, slithering slugs.

STOP smoking the crack pipe,Dina; it's making you as wacked out as Charlie.

No Lohan would EVER do ANYTHING for ANYONE, thus they can't understand that the jewelery store owner's actions will make them look GOOD. Lohans choose to lie and steal and smear, then try to make themselves look good. Nice try, bye-bye.

total obvious publicity stunt because of the bad press they are getting about selling the tape.

Why don't they give the video surveillance money to charity?!

Maybe the LOHANS should auction some of the money they made off of this to charity? After all, why should a THIEF benefit financially from her crime?

hahahahahaha do the jewelry store owners think by auctioning the necklace for charity will bring them back into favor? LAME. Its a publicity stunt typical of such losers scrambling to try and get some creditability back, it ain't gonna work, the word is out on this store. Who wants to buy an overpriced piece of jewelery? everyone knows how much its really worth, about $800 bucks, extortionists.

You "read" that the phone records from the store showed they didn't contact Lindsay?? This is too much, hahahahahahahahaha. Since when is on them to chase down a criminal to get their stuff back? That's what the police are PAID to do. What planet are some of you from anyway?

Remember the last time we heard about Lilty doing something nice for others', Lou? When she saved over 40 children in India? Oh, wait, that actually didn't happen, even though the pathological liar tweeted about it. Duck Lips (like that btw)WILL NOT do anything to help anyone but herself.

Good morning!
