Sheen Sues Warner Bros. & Lorre for $100 Million

3/10/2011 2:55 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned ... Charlie Sheen  has just filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. and Chuck Lorre, and he's not only demanding he get paid for the 8 scrapped "Two and a Half Men" episodes, he's also suing on behalf of the cast and crew ... and the suit is for $100,000,000 plus punitive damages.

Charlie Sheen Lawsuit

In a scathing preamble, legal pit bull Marty Singer writes in the lawsuit, "Chuck Lorre, one of the richest men in television who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, believes himself to be so wealthy and powerful that he can unilaterally decide to take money away from the dedicated cast and crew of the popular television series, 'Two and a Half Men,' in order to serve his own ego and self-interest, and make the star of the Series the scapegoat for Lorre's own conduct."

Singer alleges the cancellation is based on "Warner Bros. capitulating to Lorre's egotistical desire to punish Mr. Sheen ..."

Singer alleges there was a conspiracy between Lorre and Warner Bros. to blame Charlie for the cancellation.

Singer tells TMZ, the suit is also filed on behalf of the cast and crew, based on what's called a "private attorney general's statute."  To view this in the lawsuit, see page 21, paragraphs 70 - 75.

And this is interesting ... Singer alleges the decision to cancel the 8 episodes was made BEFORE Sheen criticized Lorre, because Lorre allegedly wanted out so he could work on his other shows -- and because he hated Sheen.

The suit points out Warner Bros. renegotiated Charlie's contract when he was facing felony charges in Aspen -- charges Warner Bros. thought would land Charlie in jail.

Singer claims they fired Charlie when he was sick, and that's a violation of State and federal law.

The show would probably still be going ahead if it wasn't for whatever problem it is that Charlie has. He could have saved himself a job if he had gotten the proper treatment. I think a 5150 needs to come into effect.

It is also nice to hear that Charlie's legal team included the crew members of the TV show too in their law suit. They don't have the money and power Charlie does to fight the network and Lorre.

Too bad Chuck Lorre can't be forced to put our freaking show back together.

Sometimes male hubris just sucks, and I think Charlie is right that Chuck Lorre is so freaking rich he can annoy anybody he wants, and Chuck Lorre is a totally annoying person.

I wish Chuck Lorre would take all that money he's got and jump in the lake.

TMZ is becoming a sleazy service (program) as far as I'm concerned. I enjoyed watching it a month or so ago, but the program has become self serving by any means possible, and apparently, now interfering with the courts is a badge of honor to Mr. Levin.

Speaks volumes about his lack of character.

TMZ Cares.....about revenue.

Ooh $#@!, Lorre is screwed. This is no joke. No matter what you feel about Charlie Sheen, this is a lawyers dream come true. If Lorre is smart, he'll settle. Otherwise he'll spend the next couple of years fighting legal battles which in the end will cost him in the hundredsSSS of million (emphasis on plural) Lorre can be an ass all he wants, but that doesn't excuse him for putting people out of work - contracted work that HE himself designed - in an effort to play GOD. Lorre, you are so far removed from God it's not even funny. Settle. Or you'll be living out of duplex soon enough. You asked for it, and now you've got it buddy boy.

I knew this was coming b/c Charlie seems to be a man of his word, even if his word makes no sense. I further applaud him for thinking about the crew, but didn't CBS/WB say they were going to pay the crew?

Sheen will not prevail and Lorre's wealth is completely irrelevant. More fatuous bluster from the so-called "pitbull."
