Sheen Sues Warner Bros. & Lorre for $100 Million

3/10/2011 2:55 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned ... Charlie Sheen  has just filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. and Chuck Lorre, and he's not only demanding he get paid for the 8 scrapped "Two and a Half Men" episodes, he's also suing on behalf of the cast and crew ... and the suit is for $100,000,000 plus punitive damages.

Charlie Sheen Lawsuit

In a scathing preamble, legal pit bull Marty Singer writes in the lawsuit, "Chuck Lorre, one of the richest men in television who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, believes himself to be so wealthy and powerful that he can unilaterally decide to take money away from the dedicated cast and crew of the popular television series, 'Two and a Half Men,' in order to serve his own ego and self-interest, and make the star of the Series the scapegoat for Lorre's own conduct."

Singer alleges the cancellation is based on "Warner Bros. capitulating to Lorre's egotistical desire to punish Mr. Sheen ..."

Singer alleges there was a conspiracy between Lorre and Warner Bros. to blame Charlie for the cancellation.

Singer tells TMZ, the suit is also filed on behalf of the cast and crew, based on what's called a "private attorney general's statute."  To view this in the lawsuit, see page 21, paragraphs 70 - 75.

And this is interesting ... Singer alleges the decision to cancel the 8 episodes was made BEFORE Sheen criticized Lorre, because Lorre allegedly wanted out so he could work on his other shows -- and because he hated Sheen.

The suit points out Warner Bros. renegotiated Charlie's contract when he was facing felony charges in Aspen -- charges Warner Bros. thought would land Charlie in jail.

Singer claims they fired Charlie when he was sick, and that's a violation of State and federal law.

He doesn't have the authority to act as an agent for the rest of the cast and crew- and even if he did there is no way the cancellation 8 episodes cause a loss in income for a collective 100 million dollars; especially since WB paid the crew for the 4 episodes that were recently canceled.

Charlie is going to lose what money he has left in lawyers fee's, child support and alimony- and his entourage of hangers on and whores.

Sheens pissed off because they called his bluff. Sheen wasn't expecting that. They had enough. He's fired off the show. Sheen is not God so he would like to believe that.

Sheens butt was covered plenty of times because of his actions, binges and so on. If the show wasn't a hit this wouldn't be happening.

Money or no money, loss of money the just got fed up with Sheen.

Suzanne Sommers
Farrah Fawcett
Shelly Long
Valerie Harper
Roseanne Barr
David Caruso

To name a few...They all played the power trip and it backfired on them.

Sheen lost 2 mil per episode for a TV show. Way to WIN on that stupid move.

Charlie's only "sickness" of record was a hernia, which he downplayed. Singer cannot pick and choose when his client is sick if his client has refused to ever be evaluated by a physician or psychiatrist. You cannot have it both ways.

TO: No. 13. [mid] who wrote:
"Can crew members sue Charlie for using them in the lawsuit?"

They agreed to sue and have Marty Singer as their lawyer, and, hypothetically, no Charlie wouldn't be the one to sue, I think they'd have to bring an action against the lawyer who purported to represent them and then say that the lawyer does NOT represent their interests.

In this case, since the amount they're suing for is so high, the attorney has to have a retainer agreement signed by all the cast members he represents, unless it's a class action suit, which I don't believe it is.

Good luck with this lawsuit're going to have a REALLY hard time proving any of that true. Charlie's going to get a HUGE wake-up call when this lawsuit is either dismissed or lost in court.

Wow, I've been waiting for this. Throughout this Charlie has been concerned with the crew getting paid, above himself. Winning x 100,000,000= Won

How nice Charlie. It was your fault they lost their jobs now you want to think you are so important that you will sue for them. Wonder if you asked their thoughts before you did this...pompous ass!

I hope he gets every penny of it. Production companies believe they can push and shove and do as they please. They knew Sheen was a liability due to his addiction background... so now it's time to pay the piper

Well it does have merit, to battle this Chuck Lorre would have to prove that he had all 8 episodes written and delivered before any of this started. If anyone knows anything about Writer's Contracts Chuck Lorre was in violation before any of this happened. Chuck Lorre was counting on driving Charlie to quit on his own. Remember Charlie was sick with his well do***ented hernia problem...Go Marty Go! also I would be fighting the "moral turpitude" that line is from 19th century law and its a bunch of bull...they couldn't come up with anything else..I would also be looking into Chuck Lorre's past firings...they all have to do with disagreements with the cast and crew.. Check out Cybil,Rosanne..Grace Under Fire....Vanity Cards are your downfall Chuck...its all in there....
