Mel Gibson Sentence -- The Chris Brown Factor

3/11/2011 8:20 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Although Chris Brown's name was never mentioned in Mel Gibson's hearing today -- Brown's sentence may have been a factor in determining Mel's fate.

One of the reasons Mel didn’t get jail time is because the L.A. County District Attorney has to show  some kind of consistency in their plea bargains.  Chris Brown's case is notable because he pled guilty to felony assault -- for beating the crap out of Rihanna -- and was sentenced to 5 years probation ... no time behind bars.

Even if Mel did knock Oksana's veneers out -- something he has not admitted -- it would be impossible to justify sending Mel to jail and Chris to community service.

Do you agree?

The other woman in the other picture there does look sad and hurt and beat, but oksana in hers look like she is not hurt, but happy about something. Happy like her sugar daddy will give her a lot of candy (money). I am sorry, but I don't believe her at all. She looks there as to be going to set up Mr. Gibson, or at a Halloween party dress as a country hick or something. Oksana eyes there show more happy, not pain, or a woman hurt like the other lady's picture does. Even with that lady's eyes closed you can still see hurt in her eyes as well as on her face.

Mel got played on this one. And read where someone up here tried to say that Rihanna started that fight. Ok, suppose she did. How does that justify CB beating her tat way? She is a much smaller female. I could see if a male of similar or larger size than CB started the fight but come on? She might me 70 pounds soak wet compared to him. That wasn't right. And as far as the story, does anyone really think Mel's sentence is based on Chris Brown? Mel is established and probably doesn't even have a record (until now). CB, on the other hand, had Mark Geragos. So really it had nothing to do with CB, but his lawyer as far as I'm concerned. He just knew who to go to in order to avoid jail time.
