Jack Black -- Welcome to Disneyland!

3/12/2011 8:15 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Jack Black didn't just help pay for a school marching band to travel to Disneyland so they could perform in a parade -- he showed up to cheer them on!

As TMZ first reported, Black donated $10,000 to the Tonasket High School Band from Tonasket, Washington to help cover their travel expenses to the Happiest Place on Earth.

The band performed in the Main Street USA parade and got to meet their generous benefactor afterward.

That rocks.

HEY TMZ!!!!! This was a GREAT story! Why don't you change your format and only give publicity to the celebs who do good deeds like this??? Wouldn't THAT be awesome! You could change the whole world of celebritydom. Imagine that! We'd get rid of all the crap, like anything Charlie Sheen's putting out there these days, and only have the good stuff. You're powerful TMZ and I know you can do it! Why don't you try it and make the world a better place?

Pretty cool Jack Black...

The man is putting is money where his mouth is.

Plus he had an excellent excuse to go to Disneyland and have some fun.

The kids probably loved the whole trip and hanging out with the man was the icing on the cake...

Cool dude! Hollywood needs more folks like Black. And #2 is right: DO MORE good news stories TMZ...we(flyover country)are getting the impression Hollywood is full of idiots and self serving jackholes. He proves this ain't so. Peace!

REAL CLASS! Bravo, Sir!

I shall now make it a point to go see your next 2 movies as a show of my appreciation.

Hopefully other celebs will follow your generous example.

Jack Black rocks it. Other Hollywood turds can go flush the toilet they were crapped into.

Very classy Jack. A very nice thing to do. : )
I agree, I'd like to see more celebrity good news/charitable action stories instead of the figurative car crashes we get treated to every day.

Class?? Very Classy?? Great heart?? He's awesome??

WOW are you 9 people ever gulible. This unfunny "actor" spent a whoppin $10k for publicity and unfortunately it worked.

Of course he was there in person, that is called a photo op when the paperazzi were alerted IN ADVANCE BY HIS PEOPLE.

Perhaps if he was a better actor he could afford more than $10k

And to prove 100% this was a PR stunt to benefit his sagging carrer lets just wait and see who the next high school will be. Charity is not a ONE TIME THING to get your name back in the press.

looks like he didn't keep the weight off. Too bad, it's not a very good example for the children.

Simone....it is $10,000 the school needed, photo shoot or not! Kudos to him! These are memories these kids will have for ever. May other hollywood stars follow in his footsteps.
