'Pawn Stars' Buy

MISSILE GUIDANCE SYSTEM!!!!

3/15/2011 8:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Talk about going ballistic ... TMZ has learned the guys from "Pawn Stars" have purchased a guidance system for a missile often used on F-4 Phantom fighter planes!!!

0314_pawn_stars_composite_getty_ex
Sources connected to the deal tell us Rick Harrison and his team made the deal for an AIM-120 AMRAAM missile last week ... along with the "front part" of the missile.

And before you freak out -- we're told the "front part" of the missile did NOT contain a live war head ... obviously.

Our source could not confirm how much cash Rick shelled out for the parts ... but we're guessing they don't come cheap.

So far, no word on the identity of the person who was running around Las Vegas with pieces to a missile ... but we're told the deal was "100% legal."

I just felt the neeed to read and add to the comments about this completly fabricated show. Do people really think that any part of this show is real? I saw it once for about three minutes and that is enough for me. I would never waste another second of my life watching this stupid, boring, fake tv show.

All of these new pawn shows across the networks are garbage. Just scripted BS. I'd rather watch some shady pawnshop have a real show -- where we can see first hand how the low lives and drug addicts operate. Now that would be entertaining.

There's no way this could be a real AMRAAM missile. Though I have no doubt the US Government sells off all manner of exotic stuff the AMRAAM is a frontline weapons system. Who in god's name would authorize the sale of it's all important guidance system?

First, the F-4 hasn't been in service for about 20 years. Second, the AIM-120 is used on most, if not all, aircraft in the current US arsenal. That would be F-15, F-22, F-16, F-18.Third, it would not be OK to ne in possession a real guidance package to an AIM-120. Fourth, the "warhead" of an AIM-120 is not in the nose. The nose holds a small radar. Fifth, this show is about as real as Pam Andersons...anything.

First, how can this show be fake? People contact them about selling their items. You think these guys actively go out and find people and beg them to bring in stuff and stage the sale? That makes no sense.

The show is actually very entertaining and informative, you can learn a lot about history from many of the items that come in to the store. The guys are funny as hell and it's just good mindless TV. Chum-lee for mayor of Vegas...He would win!

The F$ phantom did not have a radar package compatable with the AIM-120. The phantom carried AIM-7 sparrows. So which is it an AIM-120 or AIM-7

LOL @ NelsonH...Of course its scripted dumbass. What so called "reality" show isn't? At least it offers some interesting information of the history and origin of the items that come in there. The Hills? really? They arn't even in the same ball park.
