Funny In the real world the owner makes the money and the workers are paid whet the owner wants.. These players can always go get other Jobs in the real world making $50,000 and try to afford a home car kids and utilities on that salary

I'm so sick of whining football players. You get paid to play a game! I sure hope all the guys in the draft paid close attention in college, they may have to get a REAL job.

The owners OWN the team Mr. Newman. You guys get paid very well for the entertainment value you bring. Unfortunately for you, you are a commodity and are treated as such. You don't deserve a percentage of the pie. You deserve to be compensated, which you are. Just STFU and play ball. We aren't interested in your whining. You will lose the PR battle and the financial battle. The owners are being fair, sign the deal and play ball.

Awh1 Poor players. Did you hear? Kevin Mawae thinks some players won't be able to afford health insurance! It's a shame when you make all that money but can't afford health insurance. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/03/18/mawae-worries-some-players-cant-afford-health-insurance/
Also did you know that what the players are facing is comparable to modern day slavery? Vikings Rb Adrian Peterson believes the plight the players are fighting against the owners is comparable to modern day slavery. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/03/15/adrian-peterson-lashes-out-at-nfl-owners/

I invite both of them to live off my 5 figure salary while a lockout is in place this season. Then next season they can go back to their "jobs" a be thankful.

Darn straight Terence Newman. You preach it brother; you and Adrian Petersen. You're right, stop "dancing for the man". Quit taking the whip of the master in the back. Don't play his game. Walkout on the owners, that'll show 'em. Go get a job in middle management making 50k a year.

The only one getting screwed here is the fans. Do these jerkwads honestly think we have any sympathy for them? Do they not realize that most people would jump for a chance to make millions a year for only working (and I use the term 'working' loosely) part of the year?

These people are such douches. I hope they realize the way they're going they will ruin football the way a bunch of greedy @sses ruined baseball. Just shut your stupid mouths and be grateful someone is paying you more to play a GAME than they do to someone who is trying to cure cancer (or making some other WORTHWHILE contribution to society).

Dear Idiots, the players did not lockout the players the OWNERS did.. get your facts straight and stop looking at the money signs these people make. The lockout happened not because the players wanted more money, the lockout happened because they asked for PROOF as to why the owners did.. If you are this ignorant when it comes to football and the lockout, I worry about you in everyday life.

Hey emmers.

Do associates in a law firm have the "right" to look at the partners books? NO.

Do top researchers have the rights to look at big pharma's books? NO.

The players are the employees. They are compensated very well as employees. Period. End of story.

If they were getting screwed, thats one thing. They aren't. Not by any stretch. The entire NFLPA could retire today and the NFL could sign the next best 54 players and we would all watch just the same. Believe it.

I know voting with your wallet isn't something Americans understand. I will. I won't go to another NFL game ever. I haven't watched a full NFL game in years.

The only way I'll watch another NFL game is if they hire replacement players. Then the NFL will be fun again.
