Knut, Famous Polar Bear, Found Dead

3/19/2011 12:59 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Knut -- the famous polar bear raised by zookeepers in Germany -- died Saturday in his compound, a Berlin zoo official announced today.

Knut Dead
Knut became famous after he was rejected by his mother at birth and raised by zookeepers at the Berlin Zoo.

According to one report, he was found floating in the water in the zoo's polar bear enclosure on Saturday. Bear keeper Heiner Kloes was quoted as saying, "He was by himself in his compound, he was in the water, and then he was dead ... He was not sick, we don't know why he died."

A cause of death is not known, but tests are expected to be performed Monday.

He was 4.

His mother rejected him. It will be interesting to see if he had some congenital heart issue or other reason for his death. Nature chooses the strong to survive.
Condolences to anyone who knew and loved this gorgeous creature.

confinement and life shock,
..take morning swim, have heart attack.

LIFE PURPOSE: captive entertainment// in this manner,
we will all die with but one reason- the option 'out'.

Go to heaven, speaks with angel; comes back to life as whoopie goldberg. 'Less Than a Spectacle'(working title).. option is entertain or bear life out; the unreasonable public obligation option.

TMZ worthy? What...is this all of a sudden a Pulitzer Prize winning site for journalism? LOL...this site is worse than the Enquirer rags in the grocery stores...I say "worse" because at least you can use the Enquirer to wipe with afterwards.

As far as the bear goes...I guess he finally found something he wouldn't do for a Klondike bar.

Google him. His life was miserable and he was completely dysfunctional from not knowing how to be a bear.

Maybe his mother knew something was physically wrong with him and that is why she abandoned him. We humans maybe did not know this. And now whatever physical defect that his mother sensed caused his short life. Nature has a way.

Polarbears should not be kept in prison! Let them be where they belong, in the north!
