Charlie Sheen to Warner Bros: I Want a Public Trial!

3/23/2011 1:55 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen thinks the deck is stacked against him in his holy war with Warner Bros. over "Two and a Half Men," and he wants a public trial, not a closed-door arbitration.

Charlie Sheen Trial

Charlie -- who was fired by Warner Bros. and is suing the company for $100,000,000 -- claims Warner Bros. is trying to force the case into private arbitration because the judges who preside over these arbitrations do lots of business with Warner Bros.

So Charlie has filed legal papers, asking for a public trial in a public courthouse.

If it were a black guy who publicly accepted a suitcase of crack,
bragged about distributing it to his friends and porno hags, held a wife to his wife's neck and admitted it, threatened to cut off her head and later was seen on the top of a building waving a machete, he would be in jail. This is bull****. Anybody can produce a fake drug test. He has made threats and insults and bitten the hand that feeds him over and over because he has the "misfortune" of being in a hit sitcom that he should be kissing the ground that he has every day. There are so many talented actors looking for work who are greatful to have it. I feel bad for Jon Cryer. Maybe Chuck Lorre is a pain in the ass, who knows, but he makes 2 million an episode to make up for that pain. Most of us work for a pain in the ass every friggin day just to get by. Who, on earth does this guy think he is? He has delusions of grandeur. He used to be gorgeous now he is a wreck of a human being. Only difference is he had a plane waiting to fly him to a cushy rehab whereas anybody else would have been offered cuffs. I'm disgusted by him, and his fans and the station that puts up with him for the almighty dollar. I can assure you. The world will keep spinning on it's axis if Two and a half Men goes off the air. Have the mother and a hot cousin like John Stamos move in. It is the writing that is funny on this show. It would be just fine. jesus.

Sheen overplayed his warlock and got called out on it. Fired.

Sheen is pissed off at himself for screwing himself out of the best gig on TV and 2 mil an episode. He has to blame someone.

They all finially had enough of Sheen's crap money or no money.

You known WB checked every single word in Sheens contract and weighed out all their options and still fired his ass.

Yep. No kidding!

I've conducted an informal survey of a group of people who are a younger generation than my own - to get their perceptions on the subject of Charlie Sheen. These people are not especially conservative, some have used drugs, many like to go clubbing, so forth and so on.

There was a general consensus that was expressed best by one 27 y o who said " Its stupid. He needs to just grow the **** up and get over it. Yeah, so I know he's living the lifetstyle and all that - but - he's in the public eye. He needs to just go to rehab or whatever it takes."

When Charlie got bumped to $1.8 million dollars per episode I know he had his lawyers look over the contact before he signed it and all parties involved knew about the arbitration clause. Why didn't he say he didn't want it in his contract because he don't think arbitration would be fair to him in case of legal trouble with his employers.

I think Charlie knows he won't get a public trial but wants to tie this case up in the courts so long until he's offered a settlement by Warner Bros just to get rid of him.

I'm pretty sure this is why he was so eager to do all these tours so he can have money for his legal battles and not have to touch his personal money. Wasn't it said he would get $7 million from the first two tours alone.?

How's come Les Moonves's wife never gets fired from CBS like the rest of the hosts on CBS Early Show?
Yeah, I'd like to know all about Warner Bros. and all their connections, dirty business practices.

Whether we're talking about a "contractually" agreed upon arbitration or a public trial, Charlie Sheen's behavior is what has actually "stacked the deck" against him. If Warner Brothers has ample proof that he has "failed to comply" with the contractual terms that were mutually agreed upon, then a public venue isn't going to minimize his plight, it just may produce the exact opposite which wouldn't help him in the least. I suspect the "real" purpose of this suit is to "sabotage" any attempts by Chuck Lorre and Warner Brother's to successfully move forward without him. It seems that Charlie Sheen would rather "die and go to h.e.l.l" than to allow Chuck Lorre and Warner Brothers to prove that "Two and 1/2 Men" can be a successful sitcom without him. Business is business and they can't allow an "unstable addict" to hold a very successful sitcom hostage. It's time for him to "GROW UP" and "MAKE NICE", is he still wants to be part of this show.

Agree with everything you said - except the part about being part of this show. Its doubtful that Charlie will ever be given that chance again. Of course, I could be wrong about that. Anything seems possible these days. Also, I think that Charlie does want a big settlement as well. He seems to feel entitled.

Wooooooow....am I one of the only ones that is baffled how this man has so much support. He coke induced meth ragers with hookers, goes on drug binges, damages property...and somehow some people look at this man as if he is a hero. Same thing with Mel Gibson. Mel can have drunken rages, have a child out of wedlock, verbally and physically assault the lady and make racist remarks. These men are looked up to as somehow as victims and heros. WHAT??? But when individuals like Chris Brown, Lindsay, Britney or Miley Cyrus act up (not excusing their behavior) they, who are much younger and inexperienced, behavior is somehow so inexcusable that some feel they are deemed unworthy to do anything productive and should not be allowed to ever have a career again. Doesnt anyone else see how wrong this double standard is????

He may well need the money soon with all his outgoings & the spending on lawsuites etc. According to this report there are thousands of unsold tickets in most of the venues. Looks like they were bought up by scalpers

As i expected. he should have followed through with his charlies korner for a little longer rather than jumping ship just because the viewers he was drawing was giving sign that money could be made from it. what a cash grab.

He was originally going to broadcast on ustream weekly or bi-weekly depending on how things went. he should have built up a faithful following first then tried to take it on the road. its like he did everything overnight.

1.Starts charlies korner on ustream expects to broadcast semi frequently.
2.Oh 100k+ viewers eh? hmmm
3.ROAD SHOW! lets make them pay instead to hear me rant as a warlock. ahhhWINNING!

In less than a couple of weeks time.
