Mel Gibson Out at a Nightclub (Yes, Really)

3/27/2011 10:18 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Of all the places you would think our photogs would spot Mel Gibson on a Saturday night, darting out of Colony Nightclub in Hollywood would have to be the last.

It's no contest ... definitely the most surprising sighting of the weekend.

It's all about perception. Whether Mel, a recovering alcohlic, was drinking or not is a moot point. His judgment in going to a nightclub at this time shows his poor decision-making continues. Here's a novel idea...why not be seen out with some of those eight kids he has.

So which one of those 8 kids are you talking about?

His daughter is married and has her own family now

The other 5 are adults and I assume hang out with there own friends

And the youngest two (including Lucia) will most probably be in bed

So, what is your problem?

Geez, what's with all your judgemental people. We as fans, or just bystanders don't have any freakin' right to pass judgement on his choice of where he wanted to hang out nor do we have the right to determine that as a recovering alcoholic he shouldn't be doing this. Recovering addicts know their limits. My son comes out to the sports bar for sports games, if he feels he can't be around drinking people after a while, he leaves. I'm sure Mel does the same.

Getting a little ridiculous in here when everyone thinks they knows what's best for Mel. Live again Mel, enjoy yourself and forget the day to day bull**** you deal with thanks to Oxymanure.

Oh baloney. Normally there is live music, dancing and meeting up with friends at a nightclub. Dancing is good exercise and socializing is a mentally healthy thing to do, too.
Some of us get unsweetened ice tea, non-alcoholic drinks or even bottled water.
From some of the articles we've seen Mel does spend time with his family. But, it is also important to spend time with other people outside the family.
Why is it that someone like you thinks the worst of another person? What's up with that gutsygirl? You should give some thought about that one.

His judgment in going to a nightclub at this time shows his poor decision-making continues gutsygirl

How is it a poor decision making? Can't he live his life the way he wants? It's HIS life! No one's business. His kids are all adults, for God's sake, except for a little boy with Robyn and this new baby. When my son was a little boy my husband and I would leave him with his grandma once in a while and take a night out, sometimes we would go to night clubs and have fun with all that it implies! Is it a CRIME?

I can't get it why you deny Gibson HIS life? He is a big boy who knows what he is doing. The fact he fell for a beautiful woman and gave her SO MUCH does not make him a poor decision maker. On the contrary, it makes him a genuine MAN taking care of HIS woman till she betrayed him. He reacted badly but he is working on his reactions now. Leave him alone! Stop judging or analyzing him! Just read the stories and wish him well. Oksana deserves some mercy too. I will pray for her.

What's the big surprise? Once again, no story here, TMZ. Can't you let a man go to a night club in peace? Move along, TMZ. Next.

Oh there are soooo many beautiful places and things to do here. Almost every one I meet on the trails is struggling with something physical, personal, spiritual, emotional, yet they've chosen a coping strategy that rewards. Your entire body chemistry changes with physical exertion, and with the physical change comes an emotional change as well. I've met Bob Coomber, the wheelchair hiker... his new goal is Mt. Kilamanjaro; I've met the ordinary, the extraordinary. I've met ultra runners who run 50, 100 mile foot races, some with illnesses like type 1 diabetes, I've met newly divorced, married and struggling, all types, all ages, all walks of life. They are so inspirational. In our individual approaches to overcoming, we've chosen the great outdoors as our best "psychotropic" drug.

I just can't say enough, or how life changing, any athletic endeavor is at any age... OK off my soapbox! :)))

Hope you have fun when you get here!

I'm sure I'll get hit over the head for saying this but had this been Oksana going out for the evening there would be 100000 comments about her going on the prowl for another victim and how she wasnt attending to Lucia. And what whore-able mother she was for leaving the baby with the nanny

I agree that a bar scene is very unnatural to a natural man. drains your natural power. It breaks down your integrity and steers you in the wrong direction before you had a chance to realize it and use precautions. I would expect Mel being an Australian raised to be more nature oriented. But I think with him being an Irish, he needs a crowd around him, fun, laugh... these guys like to play. It's a familiar environment for him. I wish he could consider an alternative of a quiet self-analysis in the serenity of the nature. Nothing compares to it! I know from my own experience. I have hiking shoes, a tent (I used to be a scout girl), a tennis racquet, downhill skis, and I never miss an opportunity to use them all wherever I can. It's so much more fun for me to go out there in the field then IN the line for the nigh club... which is ok when you need the crowd. Unless you have a serious business to be in the bar (and going through **** is not a good reason), I wish all people who were or are going through challenges use this challenge as an OPPORTUNITY to reconsider their recreational styles and activities.

That's right. People build their opinions based on the PRIOR history, and this is exactly her history.

So, when Mel goes out everybody assumes he'd been drinking; when Oxa goes out everybody will assume she is out for a new victim.

But as far as we know Gibson is seeing a therapist for his condition, Oxa is not seeing one for HER condition.

This leads to the same question people have asked of Lindsay. Should he be out in night clubs?

What was the 2nd question the "photographer" asked Mel? I couldn't understand his mumbling, and thought he made a reference to Arnold Palmer. Seriously.

Mel needs a night out to relieve the stress like we all do at times. Just hope he wasn't drinking and driving.
