'Make-A-Wish' Kid to Barefoot C: Don't Call Us ...

3/30/2011 2:35 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Barefoot Contessa Ina Garten just learned a hard lesson ... late is not always better than never ... because she just got blown off by the family of a "Make-a-Wish" boy.

Barefoot Contessa

You'll recall ... Enzo -- a 6-year-old with cancer -- wanted to cook a meal with Ina, but she couldn't find the time.

After TMZ broke the story, Ina took lots of heat.  So Monday night she called Enzo's family and offered for them to come to the Food Network for a cookout.

Enzo's dad Adrian tells us ... the ship has sailed:  "I don't want to put my son through all these emotions.  We're better off just leaving everything the way it is."

As TMZ previously reported -- Enzo's new wish to swim with dolphins is already in the works, and Adrian tells us it will be fulfilled in August.

Yea right, she didn't know....bull crap!! She's a selfish snob who is finding out that us "little" people made her who she is. Now we can take it away. I personally know many people who feel like I do and have not watched her show and is not buying her products.

Yes, Foodi, the family is asking for donations with their PayPal button, and so would you if you had all the medical bills that come from living in the United States and having a child with cancer! Do you have any idea how high those bills are? And for all you know, they might not even have any medical insurance.

Lucas and Charli, WHERE did you read that the Make-a-Wish Foundation "promised" Enzo that he could cook with Ina or that "some peeved worker [at MAW] decided to blow it all out that Ina Garten was a beeyotch who wouldn't make time for a dying kid (perhaps for money)"?

If you actually did read any of that somewhere (which I highly doubt), you certainly didn't read it on any reliable source! Even Enzo's mother never made any such claim about having received any "promises" from MAW! As for who exactly tipped TMZ off about all of this, if you really want/need to know that, then why don't you ASK TMZ who it was instead of making your stupid speculations accusing one of the MAW Foundation staff members of doing it? Your pitiful attempts to spread malicious rumors about a CHARITY ORGANIZATION are pathetic!

Stop trying to blame MAW for this mess that INA created! Either Ina herself decided not to see Enzo or she gave her staff way too much authority to be able to make incredibly bad scheduling decisions on her behalf! INA is the one who "screwed this up" and she's "getting reamed over it" because that's exactly what she deserves for her callousness.

And you really believe that Ina was trying to save MAW's behinds when she finally agreed to see Enzo?! LMAO! She was only trying to save her OWN sorry hide from all the backlash she's receiving from this! Ina's not sorry that she rejected this child, she's only sorry that she got CAUGHT, and if you can't see that, you're either complete idiots or yet another couple of Ina's paid posters.

The only reason why I continue to care about this anymore, much less comment on it, is because a common theme amongst Ina's posters is their attempts to blame the MAW Foundation. That organization has done so much more for cancer-stricken children than Ina (or any of us) has ever done, and I'm not going to let you get away with badmouthing them with lies and trying to make them the fall guys for Ina. If you want to make Ina look good, do it without dragging the MAW Foundation down; if you can't, then her actions are obviously not defendable. You only turn people against Ina more every time you try to make the MAW Foundation take the fall for her.

In either case, trying to put the blame on the MAW Foundation is a shameless PR tactic and there is a special place in Hell for each and every person who uses it.

She seems like a stuck-up in her show, not really surprised she would deny this request. It would have been the least she could have done and made a kid happy, and made herself look better, but instead, epic FAIL.

Just because the kid has cancer doesn't mean someone has to drop everything and cater him. It is totally reasonable to say no. Make A Wi*****tempts to make the kids wish come true, but that doesn't guarantee it will. Sometimes people don't get what they want, even kids with cancer. Pick another wish and get over it. (oh yeah, they did.)
