Jackson Statue Erected Outside Soccer Stadium

4/3/2011 1:26 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

English Premier League soccer and Michael Jackson are synonymous with each other (just go with it) so it should come as no surprise that a statute in his honor was unveiled outside a stadium in London today.

Turns out the owner of the Fulham FC, Mohamed Al Fayed, was close friends with Jackson. He had originally planned to put the statue outside of Harrods in London, but he sold the store last year.

So now it is displayed outside of a soccer stadium in London. Perfect match.

Ugh! I don't like it. But to the person who said that they hope Fulham's team fails...........that was a bit over the top wasn't it? Especially since the team didn't buy the statue and put it up. Yeesh.

Michael Jackson wanted the mother of his two brother's children evicted from the family's Encino compound, Jermaine told in an exclusive interview.

Jermaine said the King of Pop told his brothers and sisters, before his shock death: "My mother never said Alejandra could stay at Havenhurst forever!"

He said Michael, who died of lethal levels of the powerful anesthetic propofol at age 50, had explicitly asked the mother-of-four be removed from the home he owned when Jermaine split from her, in 2004.

The pair's divorce wasn't finalized until 2008.

"Michael would have done anything for one us, but he did not come around to Havenhurst because he didn't like Alejandra," Jermaine told

The Estate of Michael Jackson is due to face off with Alejandra Oaziaza Jackson in a Los Angeles court on April 14, when a judge will decide whether she and her children, dubbed 'The Jackson Five,' should be evicted from the compound.

"She's played dirty," said Jermaine.

"She acted like my mom was going to throw her out on the street and that's not true."

in the first sentence you said "so it should come as no surprise that a statute in his honor was unveiled outside a stadium in London today" --- fyi - it's statue not statute

This statue does not quite look like MJ. But I am glad the soccer fans are honoring MJ with it. MJ was a huge fan of soccer and Cristiano Ronaldo was his favorite soccer player.

Hi Butterfly,

thanks for the Jermaine-Info.
It would have been surprising if he had said anything else, wouldn't it? OF COURSE Michael didn't like Alejandra...

Ich hoffe, du genießt den Frühling!

La Toya Jackson is making sure that her brother Michael Jackson’s children have the opportunity to continue their father’s legacy of charitable giving. Yesterday the doting aunt brought Prince, Paris and Blanket out to the GBK Kid’s Choice Awards gift lounge at the SLS Hotel in L.A. to support the Red Cross Japanese Relief Fund. She chatted exclusively with OK! about how the kids asked to help Japan and how they’re adjusting to life without their father.

While under the watchful eye of their aunt La Toya (and of course, a few bodyguards), the three siblings did what any normal kids would do, and made a beeline for the array of candy! Blanket filled up his bucket and carried it around, while Paris and Prince also checked out the sweet treats. Paris even got some stylish Feather Heads hair extensions while her brothers played with toys at the Hasboro game table. GBK is giving 20 percent of the proceeds from the event to the Red Cross Japan Relief Fund.

Toward the end of their time hanging out at the suite, Blanket even bashed open a pinata in just two tries, and ran over to show his sister what was inside.

Meanwhile, La Toya chatted exclusively with OK! about the spirit of giving in the Jackson family, and why the Red Cross is so important.

“I think any charitable event is very important and I don’t know if you know that my brother, their father, was just giving to everybody — $400 million of his personal money he gave to charity — and I support every penny of it,” La Toya explained to OK!.

Since giving back to the world was such an important part of Michael’s life, La Toya shared that she is doing her best to make sure he stays alive in the act of charitable giving.

“I think it’s very important for them to know what their father has done and to follow that legacy and to keep in their heart and mind to give always,” she told OK!.

The kids even asked her to help Japan!

“They said that they don’t mind doing and giving whatever,” she revealed to OK!. “It was so sweet. They say, ‘Can we give our clothes to them?’ It’s really sweet.”

Almost two years after the King of Pop passed away, La Toya says the family has rallied around Prince, Paris and Blanket, and everyone is adjusting to his loss.

“We are always out and spending as much time as we can together,” La Toya explained to OK!. “I go to the house and we play games with them and talk to them and make sure that everything is going well.

A silent tear, a heart with no fear.A powerful love never known to anyone.A silent and shy Man, a beautiful Face, a good hearted soul.A silend Tear rolled often down his face, he wanted to give us goodness, became only hurt by a world of Takers and no givers.A Man I wish I would of met. a man I allways loved and didn't meet.A beautiful Face, a good hearted soul, a giver and not a taker. Why is our world so unkind to a good Man who cared so much?Down fall ever since he left.No good Music, no songs that make us Rock..If I had one wish, I wish him back alive and this time just for me and his kids so nobody could ever hurt him again. I love you Michael Jackson.

Oh dear. Michael had such talent. It's too bad that even in death he has to be perpetually mocked. Is this statue supposed to be a tribute? If so, they missed the mark.
