'Idol' Rejects -- We're Going on Tour ... For Charity!

4/7/2011 9:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Three ex-contestants from this season's “American Idol” are going rogue -- in fact, TMZ has learned, they're kicking off a 5-city tour next month ... and 95% of the proceeds are going to a very special cause.

Multiple sources tell TMZ, former “Idol” contestants Chris Medina, Rob Bolin and Tim Halperin are hitting the road on a 5-city tour, spanning 4 states -- starting off in Toledo and ending in Chicago -- and the majority of the profits will go to benefit Medina's disabled fiancée.

According to sources, 95% of the money generated by the tour will be set aside for the Juliana Recovery Fund -- a charity set up to cover medical expenses for Medina’s fiancée Juliana ... who suffered severe brain damage after a horrific car accident in 2009.

FYI -- the concert is not affiliated with "A.I." ... but it obviously couldn't have happened without it.

Croc, you're an idiot. They were supposed to get married but a month before the accident happened. You don't think SHE has the right to keep fighting so she can STAND at her wedding and say "I DO" clearly? What were they supposed to do so you would be more happy with the situation? Wheel her into church and just assume she said "I do" while she's in an induced coma? Fool.

I am so proud of these guys for taking the time out of their lives to do this for the benefit of someone else. WOW! That is LOVE! I think that something else good is going to come out of this and it will be more than they ever imagined. I wish all three of them the BEST! And to those who think that the money might go someplace else. Whenever you do something like this to benefit another person, a trust has to be set up(I am sure there is one already), accountants must be hired(they probably have a friend doing it pro-bono) and audits can take place, so they would be stupid to try anything like that. They can't just book the shows themselves, they have to have someone else working for them to make this happen, otherwise, they will flop big time. Good Luck!

LOL! I watch AI every year and just by looking at the photos I couldn't even remember these guys. So I don't think I'm gonna buy tickets to the show. Also, does Harvey really stand on a box like they showed last night on AI?
