Charlie Sheen Tour -- Pauly D V.I.P. in Beantown

4/12/2011 9:05 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen's Boston tour stop will have a bit o' Jersey -- and a whole lotta hair gel -- 'cause Pauly D will be in the house, TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to Charlie tell us the "Jersey Shore" star -- and Rhode Island native -- might even make a guest appearance on stage ... a la James Lipton in NYC.

We're told Charlie's pal Rob Patterson invited Pauly to hang -- they were snapped chillin' backstage tonight.

UPDATE 9:20 PM EDT: Pauly D is on stage (crowd loves it) and offers Charlie a role in his new spinoff reality show. Hey, Charlie could get a job out of this after all.

9:40 PM: Charlie says he was fired because producers of "Two and a Half Men" were jealous of him -- and then claims there's been progress in talks to get him back on the show.

That's NOT what our 'Men' sources are saying.

9:47 PM: Crowd is getting restless after about an hour. Our spies say many people are heading for the door.

9:57 PM: A few comments about hookers, and that "traitor" Heidi Fleiss ... and the audience has seen enough. We're told the crowd is pouring out.

9:58 PM: Charlie says, "One thing they can never take from me is the time we had here tonight." The show's over. No standing O ... in fact, very little applause at all.

While I was trying to read the Lipton article - the page doesn't open from any approach - I ran across a small set of articles that suggest that Charlie Sheen has a history of animal neglect leading to death.

"You can trash Denise all you want, but one thing you can't say is that she doesn't love and care for her animals.

"These poor dogs were in a terrible condition when he gave them back to her. His Chinese water dragon died because he didn't take care of it and a while back, when he was married to Brooke, his bearded dragon fell in the pool and died.

"Again nobody was watching the poor thing."

For the Lipton interview, just go to hollywoodreporter.com, there is a little black box with Charlie's picture, click on that and the article is there.

Charlie Sheen is dividing the singular public image of himself as a crack head into smaller non threatening images of himself as an entertainer down on his luck. Changing his image but not his soul.

I agree that he is trying to change his image from that of an actively abusing crackhead - and that's probably one of the strategies he is using the tour for.

Nancy, there was video next to the article, the reporter gave a more in depth description of the "show" and I use the word show very loosely!

@Kathyo

OH! Thanks... didn't bother watching the video, lol. Scanning for stuff in with other things going on - but maybe I should look at ALL of it if I'm gonna comment, eh?

Sorry!

Thank you. I just read the article. It really was interesting.

Not sure what to make of it. Lipton has always gone very easy on actors that he interviews - to the point sometimes that its embarrassing to watch. But, maybe he just has a VERY open mind about just about anything.

For example, he mentioned Charlie working himself back to a normal life. When has Charlie EVER had a really normal life? He's ALWAYS done drugs and used hookers - his whole adult life and even before.

I thought that his observation of the audience was interesting. He said that the audience - and this was the GOOD NYC SUNDAY night audience mind you - was more like the audience at a wrestling match than a theatre audience.

And another not-so-stellar review of the Boston show:

• And finally, “Jersey Shore” star — and the Pride of Johnston, R.I. — DJ Pauly D was in da house for Sheen’s gig at the Agganis. According to TMZ.com, Charlie’s bud Rob Patterson reportedly asked Pauly to show up a la James Lipton and Darryl Strawberry, who took part in the Sheen shows in NYC. Charlie didn’t seem to know who the tanorexic MTV star was or why he was invited up on stage.

Snippet from a Boston newspaper"

"People we spoke to said it was boring and full of Sheen ranting and raving. "Ramble, ramble, ramble, catchphrase, ramble. Basically, I stole your money. Ramble, ramble," said one attendee."

Yet people continue to buy tickets for this mess. Do the people in the next state/city think his show is going to be any different.

This just bears out what I said earlier today/yesterday(?) on another thread: people go to see the guy for the same reason people gawk at accidents on the expressway. And that's a pretty sad commentary on a LOT of things, not the least of which is the caliber of "show" they're going to see.

"Charlie Sheen’s in town tonight, and while ticket sales for his Torpedo Tour of Truth have been anything but brisk, there are still folks willing to sit through two hours of musings from his “magic brain.” Just who are these people?

Meet 26-year-old Tanner Payne of Boston.

“I slow down to look at accidents. If there’s a fight, I stay and watch. If a girl’s throwing up on the sidewalk, I hold her hair. And I don’t care what people think of me,” Payne said.

Which is why he’ll be front and center at Agganis Arena tonight along with his father, brother, brother-in-law and girlfriend."

Another Boston review.

Meanwhile, Jersey Shore's Pauly D made an appearance on stage at one point. After he left, Sheen said, "I don't watch his show."

Other thoughts from Shertenlieb:
-- "Cheesy guy with metal guitar shredding. This is the stuff he ditched after he got booed in Detroit. Why is there a scene from Jaws playing?"

-- "Tiger blood, adonis DNA, Warlock, 7 gram rock, trolls, winning...he's nailed every catchphrase in the first 3 minutes."

-- "Second question if the night from host- 'Where did you come up with the word Warlock?' Answer: 'I liked the f**king word.'"

-- "Sheen just brought a guy up on stage with a Mets hat. People are booing dude in hat. Sheen calls ex-wife a crack whore, wins them back."

-- "Was that just a gigantic TECATE ad I saw on the screen behind him? Was my $89 not enough?"

Hey Nancy,

not to mention the fact that people can buy the tickets really cheap now but whoever thinks they're getting a two hour show is sadly mistaken

RR, correct me if I'm wrong but Lipton didn't really say what his opinion of the show was, I think he just said Charlie was working out his tensions but no mention of whether or not he enjoyed the show

**************************************************

Isn't that the truth? If they get a full hour in some cases, they're awfully lucky. If he feels he's doing well, they might hit the "jackpot" at 75 minutes. "Two hours," my foot!

This article explains adult ADHD and some of the effects it has on people quite well, IMO. Scroll down and see if the list of symptoms doesn't sound like someone we've all come to "know," if only vicariously.
