4/13/2011 6:35 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Barry Bonds has been found guilty of obstructing justice ... stemming from the 2003 federal steroid investigation.

The jury deadlocked on the remaining charges -- which included lying to a grand jury when he denied knowingly taking steroids -- and the judge ultimately declared a mistrial.

Bonds faces a maximum 10 years in federal prison for the obstruction of justice conviction.

The prosecution has not announced whether it intends to re-file the deadlocked charges against Bonds.

If this guy goes into jail, then Mark MacGuire sahould too!
He refused to answer any questions when HE was in front of congress, and he ws CLEARLY on roids during the HR race with Sosa...
when I saw that footage of him holding his son up in the air on the field after breaking the record....man that sickens me...
his neck was bigger than my thigh for christ's sake!

He is a dirty little cheater like Bonds, only WORSE because he won't ****ing admit it. and the people hanging Barry out to dry, while calling MacGuire a 'hero' should be ashamed of themselves...

I am white, but even I say this is racist....

Hey Mark, how do you sleep at night? Boy I bet your son thinks his dad is just the greatest....does he know his dad is a cheater who won't own up?

Prosecutors, You got the obstruction count so call it a day. Try to get the maximum, whatever that actually may be. Dont refile the perjury charges, it's not worth the time and money. Just let it go and move on to something more important.

Refile all the charges they deadlocked on even if it costs billions of dollars. Putting Bonds in jail for using steroids and lying is more important than health care, education, medicare, infrastructure or defense funding by the Federal Government. They should also try to convict all professional athletes in the USA who use steroids including all professional wrestlers, ultimate fighters, etc. Divert the entire Federal budget to the cause and then we can sleep at night.

As much as I hate all the steroid use and lying in professional sports, this should not be a legal matter. Baseball has its own rules of conduct separate from the laws outside the game. The original hearing where he lied in the courtroom should've never happened in the first place. It is against the rules of baseball to use performance enhancers, but it is not against the law. Steroids aren't a legal matter. The problem is they had that hearing. That should not have happened.
