The jury deadlocked on the remaining charges -- which included lying to a grand jury when he denied knowingly taking steroids -- and the judge ultimately declared a mistrial.

Bonds faces a maximum 10 years in federal prison for the obstruction of justice conviction.

The prosecution has not announced whether it intends to re-file the deadlocked charges against Bonds.

We know that the majority of baseball hitters used steroids prior to the time when MLB instituted drug testing. So, the majority of the hitters who have been voted over the last 20 years into the MLB Hall Of Fame shouldn't be there for that reason. Now, they use growth hormone injections to get stronger because the scientists in the labs can't detect growth hormone in their urine samples. It's easy and convenient to blame Barry Bonds, Manny Ramirez and a few others. The truth is that most baseball hitters and many pitchers over the last 25 years have been juicing and they're not just juicing fruits and vegetables.

Don't lie to the federal government or a grand jury. This is the new way they will get you if they can't get a conviction on charges they brought against you. Martha Stewart, Marion Jones, & Wesley Snipes also found out the hard way. You also CANNOT invoke your 5th Amendment Rights at a grand jury hearing.

Anyway, we could throw thousands of current athletes and ex athletes in prison for illegally using steroids. Whats the point in wasting federal money in court costs and prison costs? Just fine them big money and be done with it already.

I don't know why they even bothered with this charade. The rich are never punished for their crimes. They just buy better lawyers. He won't serve any time.

Just keep his sorry ass out of the "Hall Of Fame" and take away his HR title... Give him many hrs of community work out among the kids that thought he was "Real" before the truth came out.
