Mario Batali -- Don't Blame ME For Killing The Soaps!

An unattractive, obese man with a ponytail in shorts hosting a show called The Chew?! You would have to be deaf, dumb, and blind to think anyone will want to watch this compared to OLTL and six time Emmy winner Erika Slezak, who heads the cast.

ABC/Disney doesn't give a damn about soap viewers because they tend to be older and lower income, which advertisers don't want. ABC thinks it can make more money and attract advertisers by creating shows designed to appeal to younger, upwardly mobile viewers. In other words, soap viewers are garbage to be trashed, according to ABC research from California. The new shows will likely have fewer viewers but make more money because they will be cheaper to produce. The last thing daytime network television needs is another asinine cooking or reality talk show. Obviously ABC will broadcast any pig slop if it increases their advertising revenues.

Big Mistake.

When I think of a chef, I think of someone that knows all there is to know about food! They would know how to make healthy nutritious meals that are interesting and fulfilling/pleasing to eat. Judging by the look of this fellow he doesn't know a thing about food! I certainly won't watch this guy. He knows nothing about healthy eating judging by the look of him. He also looks like he could do with a good dose of personal hygiene!
I can't be bothered watching soap operas either. I tried a couple of times but it's the same crap day in and day out. Their story lines were old 20 years ago!!

Mario Batali doesn't deserve his own show, he's a sweaty pig who steals tip money from his own wait staff. And how unappetizing is a title like "The Chew"?

Oh and @C, some of us "Crazy Jobless Freaks" are home during the day because we have disabilities and diseases (mine Lupus) that keep us from working. We look forward to "fictional" tv during the day to take our minds off of "Reality" tv. We live reality every minute of every day. Also, those employees of Mario's you spoke of "who love him" must of been the ones he was splitting the tip money with.

Heck, in Mario Batali's first show, he would only have to shove an apple into his own mouth and sit in the oven for 8 hours at 375 degrees and the first main course would be suckling pig!

Maybe he would have to cook him longer to be well done, we wouldn't want to get trichinosis from eating something that has been fed garbage his entire life.

How can a fat slob like him claim to know how to cook healthy foods? Practice what you preach Gordo!

Won't be watching any of ABC's LAME programing. Or buying anything from ANY of their sponsors. Bite me.

Soap lovers shouldn't be mad at Mario or even the networks. They should be mad at their fellow viewers that tuned out over the years.

The "Reality" is this show will last 10 seconds not 40 years like OLTL!!!

nobody wants to watch about some damn food if i wanted that i would watch the food network. i only watched ABC for OLTL and AMC. so they just lost a viewer. pretty soon their new shows are gonna go down and then following it will be their whole network. hope it was worth it abc. HEY writers of OLTL and AMC, move to another network. i will surly tune in. OH and Abc thats a load of **** to get a fat ass to tell us to eat healthy.

Sorry to tell you Mario, but your show "Chew" sounds very unappealing and probably won't last a year. Soaps needed to reinvent themselves and chose not to do that. I'm sorry to see some of them leave the air; but it was inevitable with all these crap reality housewives and teen mom trash shows. Note to TV execs - not everyone wants to see whining, "cuddling", pregnant teens, drug addicts 7 days a week.

WILL NEVER WATCH THIS DUMB SHOW.... ABC should of at least showed us some respect and not replaced a show so dear to so many with a show to make people at clearly looking at the head person it is not a health show. Wouldn't watch eitherway. ABC is out of my life forever!!

Oh my bad the Food Network was taken off as well as many great stations to save a buck and yet look at all these actors/actresses out of work???? The stations could care less about the customer viewing its all about the DOLLAR... DVD time cause the best sitcoms are gone the best soaps are now gone and the best stations are gone??? Why even pay for cable but for the news and thas why we own computers and buy newspapers??? peace with that decision... TV is no more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BOYCOTT ABC!!!!!!!!!!!!! Food Network is where this and many other talents belong!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not saying that this individual carries much talent other than a NAME??? SAD for ABC... watch the ratings DROP like flies....
