'Meteor Man'

The Sweaty Arm-Flailing Ke$ha Dance

4/20/2011 6:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The guy who played "Meteor Man" back in the '90s made a TRIUMPHANT comeback this weekend in L.A. -- dancing his FACE OFF at some backyard Ke$ha tribute show ... and TMZ has the hilarious video.0419_Townsend_boogie_down_launch_ex

It was all for some YMCA event at a park in North Hollywood -- we're told actor Robert Townsend's son is a member of the organization ... but clearly, that didn't stop Rob from having an awesome time too.

Don't stop. Make it pop.

Could THIS have sounded ANY Worse..?
Eeeks.. either we get Auto-Tune out the rear, or we get something like THIS!
Where did all the REAL talented music acts go..? *sigh*
I swear I remember the days one could turn on the RADIO (no records, Cassettes,k or CD's) and hear REALLY REALLY Good music.. w/o Auto-Tune!
If this chick gets PAID to whine like a dog with a sinus cold then SHE and whoever is paying her should ge sent to GiTmO!
Ridiculous!

Wow the guy who play who played Meteor Man huh? His huge career as a writer/producer/director/actor is reduced to that? Hollywood is something else.

Robert Townsend is a very funny dude. However, you guys at TMZ dropped the ball when you identified him as the guy who made Meteor Man. The movie most people who know of him identify him with is Hollywood Shuffle. That is one the funniest, smartest satirical films about Hollywood's perpetuation of Black stereotypes that's ever been made. It was also the launching pad for many popular black comic actors like the eldest Wayans Bros. (Keenan Ivory and Damon), John Witherspoon (Ice Cube's dad in the Friday movies, Robert "Granddad" Freeman on The Boondocks), and Rusty Cundieef (Fear of A Black Hat, Sprung, directed episodes of Chappelle's Show), to name a few...

That's the most Gangsta Dad I've seen in a long time. How often do we see a man let alone an Auteur (Yes Check his Resume) get up in the morning bright and early to support his family in whatever craziness they happen to be involved with. With a Pops like that I bet his kids grow into fine people who brighten the world. Anyone can be "too cool for school" but only Real Men with Real Wisdom get involved regardless of public opinion. So whether you American Bandstand or Crip Walk it's all Love--Keep it Gangsta, Mr. Townsend.

Much more than just the "guy who played Meteor Man". I loved his specials growing up, he was hilarious. He looks like he was having a blast!
