Frank McCourt Gearing Up for Legal War with MLB

4/21/2011 3:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Sources connected with Frank McCourt tell TMZ ... the L.A. Dodgers owner has his lawyers preparing a case against Major League Baseball as well as Commissioner Bud Selig.

Frank McCourt

Sources familiar with the case tell us ... Frank's lawyers are researching and preparing legal docs so they can go to court and ask for a mandatory injunction, forcing the MLB and Selig to reinstate McCourt as the man in charge of the day-to-day operation of the team.

Our sources say the essence of McCourt's case -- that Selig was allegedly "arbitrary and capricious" in yanking McCourt's authority.

We're told one of the arguments -- that Selig and the MLB have tolerated bigger problems with other teams, including the New York Mets, which is reportedly $450 million in debt.

Our sources say legal action "is not imminent" -- meaning it won't be filed today.  But sources say it could still be filed as early as Friday.

20 Million in lawyers fees to fight his wife for ownership. McCourt loses and is suing the law firm that represented him. Now he is suing major league baseball. Here is a clue Frankie boy. When you can not pay your employees anymore even though you sell overpriced putrid hot dogs, overpriced flat soft drinks and flat beer. along with $20.00 to park and admissions and Millions in other revenues, the party is over. MLB has to protect there product. Time to head east McCourt you had your run, you had no money. All smoke and Mirrors.

Sue the MLB, for what? Dodger fans want this P.O.S. to pack his bags and get the f*ck out of L.A. And he can take his worthless, reptilian, ex-wife with him. Dodger fans will be more than happy to pack any court room and beg the Judge to strip this assh*le of any property he has in Los Angeles.

Soboroff added: "How do you single him out when you don't single the Mets out? Come on."

The Mets have reportedly borrowed $25 million from MLB to keep baseball operations afloat as the Wilpon family looks for someone to buy a share of the team. Ownership needs to raise funds as it battles a lawsuit by the Bernard Madoff trustee that could potentially cost the team $1 billion.

Selig bristled Thursday when asked if he sees any similarities between the Dodgers and the Mets.

"The only thing I'm going to say is that there are a lot of differences," Selig said, according to multiple media outlets. "The situations are clearly not similar, and that's in a myriad of ways. ... So if you ask me is the analogy is a proper one, I say no.

"Anyone who portrays that as the case ... is incorrect. Very incorrect. That's based on the facts, as I know them."

Let me guess Jamie's sleeping with BUD now! i feel bad for Frank McCourt . He's blamed for everything but yet it was him that brought us just inches away from world series championships! the guy hired the best manager in baseball 'joe torre' and brought Manny to LA. Why is everyone blaming him if the sun don't shine are we gonna start saying he's the cause of natural disasters too. I was born a dodger fan and he's done more for the team then past owners. Second chance minus the money steeling dirty no good wife!
