Cops Launch Investigation Into Charlie Sheen Escort

4/22/2011 12:01 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen is no stranger to escorts ... but the one he picked up in D.C. earlier this week has triggered a police investigation.

0422_charlie_sheen_BN

D.C. police have announced ... an internal investigation is underway to find out who authorized multiple units to use lights and sirens to escort Sheen from the airport to his live show Tuesday night ... when he was running about an hour late.

Sheen tweeted during the incident -- posting a photo of a speedometer right around the 80 mph mark and writing, "in car with Police escort in front and rear! driving like someone's about to deliver a baby! Cop car lights."

UPDATE: Apparently Charlie got the Obama treatment ... DC PD released a statement saying escort duty is typically reserved for POTUS, the VP, or visiting heads of state. They admit it appears "protocols ... were not followed" -- and Internal Affairs is investigating.

Sheen ended the night begging his fans to help him get his job, paying upwards of $25-million annually. Seemed an odd request -- that folks struggling with a battered economy and problems of their own should crusade to help a disconnected party boy win back a job his lost with his own big mouth.

"Sheen ended the night with a passionate plea for the crowd to help him get his job back, telling the audience "with your support, with a room filled with love, we are going to get my job back.''

Jodi's citation is ROL - which you, ksis, love to cite as a very reliable media source much better than TMZ.

You, ksis were not there, either.

The Internet is full of tweets and reviews many of which mention the Siskel & Ebert comments - with context. The context was that Siskel & Ebert had not given Charlie good reviews for his role in "Wallstreet" - and now look what had happened to them. One was dead and the other had his face eaten off with cancer - which your man Charlie said was "****ing cool".

Same for the other remarks Jodi shared from ROL.

Right here, folks, is the reason that cellphones are now being confiscated at the Sheen shows - so people don't have any way to challenge the Sheenie propaganda.

How Charlie Sheen's Police Escort Violated D.C. Law

The squad cars that accompanied the actor to his April 19 "Torpedo" tour date drove at speeds reserved for the pursuit of a fleeing felon.

The police escort that accompanied Charlie Sheen from Virginia's Dulles Airport to Washington, D.C. for his April 19 "Torpedo of Truth" tour date violated the law by exceeding speeds of 80 mph.

Police cars traveling at such high speeds are considered "emergency vehicles" and according to do***ents obtained by the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund (PCJF), "shall be operated as emergency vehicles only in the District of Columbia, and when outside of the District of Columbia, only while engaged in the fresh pursuit of a fleeing felon."

The PCJF says D.C.'s Homeland Security and Special Operations Division gave the okay for the high-speed police escort after Sheen landed late for the show in a private jet.

PCJF legal director Carl Messineo said, "No only is the MPD apparently using D.C. taxpayer resources to act as a private security service for celebrities, in so doing they are risking the lives of the residents of D.C. and the surrounding region."

That's a pretty f*ckin' LAME thing to say...

Hey Sissy, what category does this comment fall into? Standup...or performance art?

...and while I have your attention, Sissy - a few days ago, you were admonishing those writing to CBS regarding boycotts, etc. - saying essentially that "that sh*t doesn't work..." Now your boy Chuckles is pleading for Sheenie-Weenies to do just that...write to CBS and collectively beg for his job back. I'm sure you've written, what - twelve or so letters? Make sure you use unique e-mail addys, Dear!

Minxster,

You may have noticed two things.

One, I mentioned yesterday before last night's show that the interview was obviously scripted - so this line of questions was a set up allowing Chuckles to get some pay back on Ebert.

Two, the Tweets I shared last night - as well as numerous other tweets and reviews - noted how scripted the show has become and that the interview is a set up for Charlie to do some trashing.

Evidently, in last night's show he expanded his remarks about Ebert into jokes about cancer. And, as we have discussed on the frat house thread, that has been Charlie's MO for a LONG time. But, of course, you already know that probably better than most of us.

Anyway, its been real. I hope that if you decide to stay here that you continue to keep others here real. If you ever decide that you want to get in touch with me via email I would welcome the correspondence. Ask Nancy to help you with that. Just no email addys here, please.

"DC PD released a statement saying escort duty is typically reserved for POTUS, the VP, or visiting heads of state."

Charlie's a visiting head case, perhaps someone just misunderstood. Or possibly somebody said that he was the son of former President Bartlet?
