'Golden Voice' Ted Williams -- Headed Back to Rehab

5/5/2011 12:55 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Ted Williams -- the homeless man with the "Golden Voice" -- is heading back to rehab today ... Ted's manager tells TMZ.

Ted Williams Rehab
We're told ... later today, Ted will return to the Origins Recovery Center in South Texas -- the same place he bailed on back in January.

Ted's manager says Mr. Golden Voice plans on attending a 90-day program to "get his strength back" and to get a "solid foundation in a 12-step program."

We're told Ted's book deal and reality show have been put on hold until he completes the program.

he should have stayed there in the beginning when Dr Phil sent him instead of checking himself out!

not sure if the Dr Phil offer is open ended and they will still pay the bill for him finally returning

or if this time it's all on him
should be on his dime this time-then maybe he'll actually do the hard work necessary to get/stay sober/clean

This whole story from the start makes me sick! Here is a guy that had CHOSEN, mind you, CHOSEN, to leave his career and family behind to be a drunk and druggie, to live on the streets. He was given a second chance by people with the money to help and he threw that away too. Here we are, like many many others, living hand to mouth every month and wondering if we are going to be able to pay the rent for another month. Cannot find a job because no one is hiring and this guy gets job offers out the butt. When are these rich celebs going to start helping their own other than these down beats that do not appreciate it??? They do this to get into the news and bring attention to "the good" that they are doing. They get no thanks for that, just attention, which I guess is what they are after. Oh well, another day for us poor, hard working peope to be reading this crap about this BUM!!

I really hoped for the best for him. It looks like it was a waste of dr. phil's time just like the alex girl who clearly don't want his help. So many deserving people didn't get the chance of a lifetime because of them. SAD

He's a deadbeat dad. Why are we glorifying him? Compassion and help should be given to single parents who are struggling, but also working and actually trying to take care of themselves.
