Will Smith's Megatrailer -- TOWED ... On Tape!

5/12/2011 11:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Will Smith's 1,150 sq. ft. trailer was unceremoniously dragged off a busy NYC street yesterday after complaints from residents -- and you gotta see the footage ... thing's UNREAL.

Smith's double-decker luxury trailer was plonked down in the middle of a tiny street in Soho while the actor shot "Men in Black III" -- but after several residents complained it was blocking traffic, giving off fumes, and screwing up local businesses ... the studio towed it to a nearby parking lot.

And to give you an idea of how absurd this thing is -- the 53-foot trailer also boasts marble floors, a massive 100-inch TV, a bedroom, and several offices.

I am all for people earning a great deal of money and not having to apologize to anyone for it, but there is something disturbing about the level to which one chooses to go to accommodate themselves in a public and, most probably, unnecessary way, just because they feel like it. This is quite different from choosing to have the most extravagant home and personal lifestyle around. This is about being at work and still needing to pamper oneself in such an ostentatious way (which I am very sure is not matched with the co-worker equal and shows no sensitivity on that level), interfering with public sensibilities on public property, and causing a nuisance. The fact that Dear Oprah is choosing to have the Will-Jada team as her last guests on her show seemed a bit odd to me considering all the guests she could have chosen, but maybe it does makes sense and maybe it tells us a great deal about Oprah. Actually, her Road Trip Across America show, which she traveled with Gayle, did shed light on the fact that underneath her penchant for setting herself up as one who still relates primarily to "regular" folk and their problems because of her beginnings (branding), there really lies an elitist at heart. Oprah + Smiths + Obama = Makes sense.

He earned the money, he doesn't fly. If I had that much money I'd park my megatrailer on a Soho street just for the hell of it.

FYI Will bought that trailer a long time ago, he uses it when he shoots his movies so it's not "star treatment" from the studio like you guys make it seem...hey if the guy has the money and he wants to feel at home while he works then he can...but I don't think it was right for them to park it where they did either.

The trailer size doesn't compare to his ego. It would be nice if him and the talentless wife & kids faded away

Towed? Transportation dept. on the show hooked up to it and moved it to a new spot. That's a lot less dramatic. In the vid you can see the other production trailers, most around the same size. So what if he has a big trailer? Non-issue here.
