Jon Cryer -- "Jazzed" About Future of "Men"

5/14/2011 4:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Jon Cryer still has a job -- thanks in no small part to Ashton Kutcher -- and from the sound of things ... he's quite happy about it.

0514_jon_cryer_ashton_kutcher_REG
The "Two and a Half Men" star made his first comments yesterday about Ashton coming on board, joking, "Ashton is an extraordinarily talented guy, and his presence will be an asset to our show. We are old friends from our male modeling days, and we're both looking forward to being judged for our comedic artistry, as opposed to our exceptional physical beauty."

Cryer said he is "jazzed" the show is coming back -- and, despite all the recent upheaval, thanked Charlie Sheen, saying, "I'm extremely proud of the work we've done together, and I will miss him. But I'm also looking forward to this new beginning."

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. “(Hebrews 4:12 NKJV)

Cryer is the star, as is the kid, as is the maid. Charlie Sheen thinks way too highly of himself. Cryer made the show.

It will fly. I will watch again. I quit watching after Charlie's shena****ns. He's pathetic and not as important as he thinks. Delusional much Charlie?

I love those that say 2 1/2 Men was only a hit because of the CS fans. LOL. His fans are too wasted to even know what day, time and channel the show was on. The demographics for the show was solidly in the 25-45 range. CS fans tend to be college age and younger, or at least mentally immature.

As long as the writing on the show stays strong, I predict that AK will do just fine.

My bet is that he will be Charlie's unknown son from one of his multiple flings. He will show up on the door step only to find that Chuckles has been killed in a drunk driving accident.

KSIS never went anywhere so how can SHE be BACK?

@JackDaCarup

Learn to read before you answer my comment. They DID support. EXCEPT one ASSS.
On second thought...how about another approach? DON'T answer my comments. Save it for your..."lets-mock-someone-using-their-private-info" group.

I honestly didn't realize it was your post that I was commenting on. However, how do you know that his castmates and crew weren't supporting Charlie all-along until they couldn't do it anymore? I supported Charlie all along, even thought the Aspen deal etc. wasn't all his fault...HOWEVER, when he had his very public meltdown, I couldn't support him anymore! Who knows, maybe now that he is umemployed, this will be his rock bottom and he will seek the help he so needs to make him whole again, then maybe, just maybe I can support him once again.

As I have stated many times before, I am not here to "fight" with anyone!!

Yes, I joined the group, and yes I called you an almond joy ONCE...but that is as far as I went. I joined the group to discuss Charlie, not your mental state. Most likely I will now be banned from the group, but it's all cool.

@ksis - are you willing to acknowledge that Sheen was at the pinnacle of his career and made choices that precipitated his own slide down the slippery slope - through his use of illegal drugs, drunken orgies with porn stars and trashing of hotel rooms?

You may not realize it but CBS, Warner Bros. are brands that cannot have this type of publicity. You seem to wish to cast the blame totally on others without acknowledging that everything resulted due to Charlie's own choices.

It should be a good show with Jon and Ashton - I will certainly watch it now - never did before as I do not care for Charlie Sheen.

Oh please Charlie had this problems, which were publicly known, throughout the entire 8 season run of the show. Now only did Warner, Lorre and CBS know about his reputation, that signed him to a second contract as well, NOT TO MENTION THE ENTIRE FREAKIN' SHOW IS WRITTEN AROUND THE PREMISE OF CHARLIE SHEEN AND HIS REAL LIFE BAD BOY REPUTATION.

It was ONLY after Charlie went off the deep end and personally insulted Lorre and bruised his ego that the sh*t hit the fan with Warner and Lorre, that's when he became persona non grata on the set. And even after that CBS head honcho Les Moonves STILL desperately wanted Charlie back on the show because it's his networks ratings that are at stake. He tried to move mountains to get Lorre and Charlie working together again.

So don't patronize us with BS like "you may not realize it but CBS, Warner Bros. are brands that cannot have this type of publicity". Charlie's bad boy public persona and endless brushes with the law, drugs and hookers have always been public knowledge and it never concerned CBS or Warner enough to distance themselves from him. They only showed their "concern for his health and well being" when it started costing them $$$$$ on the set. And even then they gave gave him the opportunity to do the superficial "rehab" thing and get right back to doing what he was doing albeit a little more discretely. All they really cared about was him NOT costing them money on set because his lifestyle was interfering with his work. Not because they ever gave a crap about his health and well being.

The one and only reason Charlie isn't still on the show is he and Lorre both have huge egos, they've grown to despise each other over the years, and Charlie finally had enough and let it rip publicly, and in the end they both cut their noses off to spite their faces because of their big fat egos.

Seems like the only person who doesn't know Charlie has problems is Charlie himself.

Mr. Sheen - how sad to have witnessed your demise. You self
destructed. To think you had it all, but you let your ego and arrogance get the best of you. Now you've burned so many bridges,
you've gotten yourself blacklisted!!!The silence of your agent's
phone pretty much says it all. Bye, bye 1.8 mill a week. You'll
NEVER see that AGAIN. IDIOT!!!!

Charlie Sheen has been his own worst enemy.

He ruined his good deal with Warner Bros. by spewing hate filled rants,

tearing up hotels, and bragging about his drug use

Charlie now must reap what he has sown, and it is bitter

Proverbs 14:1

The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down

TO CHARLIE:

You have made mistakes, but it is never to late GOD LOVES YOU!

Start something new, forget your old wounds.

Let your actions reflect a new path.

Romans 12:21

Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

God is always there,Charlie &
I am still praying for you!

Puckett - hate to burst your bubble but actually I'd never watched the show nor even heard of Charlie Sheen till this whole thing blew up - Since the disgusting rants against his employer I googled everything I could find and frankly my opinion is that the actor was vastly over paid for the poor performances he gave.
It seems pretty obvious to me that this actors employers did all they could to assist him in getting his life back on track and he acted out like the egotistical person he is.

I also finally became aware of Vanity cards - Chuck Lorre's brilliant writing and I have this fiasco to thank for that -

I am a fan of The Big Bang Theory - and Mike and Molly - never watched an episode of TAAHM before this - have watched reruns now - I like the rest of the cast but definitely don't like Sheen's real life actions so the show is so fake to me I don't even watch the reruns any longer -

I look forward to the new season with Ashton as I will be watching now - I like the rest of the cast.

In truth I feel sorry for Charlie Sheen - he has a lot of rebuilding to do but first he has to recognize and admit he was the creator of this mess - no one else but he choose to do drugs, trash hotel rooms, hook up with porn stars, etc. and none of this was so evident to general public knowledge until he decided to go on every media outlet that would give him air time to trash his bosses. So whatever excuses you want to trot out don't work with me - For my money he should be in jail for drugs not boasting about his 7 gm rocks on media.

If he was my employee I would fire his butt also - So for every viewer or fan that the show lost with him gone they may just get a whole new crowd to support the cast and crew - like me for instance.
