Child Protective Services in San Francisco launched an investigation last week after Kerry Campbell went on "Good Morning America" and told the world she gave her daughter Britney the anti-wrinkle injections herself ... to help her compete in beauty pageants.

According to ABC News, Britney has been removed from the home by CPS and taken into their custody while an investigation is conducted.

Britney is reportedly "doing well."

That poor child is going to be mentally damaged for the rest of her life. What 8 year old thinks they have wrinkles and doesn't like hairy legs? I feel so sorry for that little girl. Hopefully she can get the help she needs to get her innocence back. That mother screwed her daughter up for life. It's very very sad. I can't believe she would do that and what's even MORE stupid is that she went on TV and admitted to it!

This woman should never, ever get her child back. What 8 year old has anyone ever seen with wrinkles anyway? Pageants are not healthy for young children anyway. I've seen a few girls whose mothers were always shoving them into pageants. They've ended up pretty thoroughly screwed up!

I'm glad to hear that, it's usually the moms living their lives thru their daughters, or should I say the insecurities/failures. That ,mom should take a good look at her own self, and inject botox into some of those ab. rolls she's carrying in her mid-section "Anyone for crescent rolls"?.

Another thing, she said that it was the child's idea, well when the child was asked "What is Botox", she didn't have clue, way to go mom, on a first class lesson on "HOW TO LIE"

Little girls do not need to be sexy, seductive and made up like little hookers, they're children, so let them be kids and allow time to pass on as nature would have it.

Turns out the mom who says she gave her 8-year-old daughter Botox beauty treatments doesn't actually live in San Francisco.

Nor, for that matter, is her real name Kerry Campbell.

San Francisco officials were deluged with inquiries last week after the woman went on ABC's "Good Morning America" and said she was administering Botox injections to her 8-year-old daughter to give her a better chance of winning child beauty contests. She said she was a trained esthetician and that the girl's name was Britney. The city said it would look into it all.

Reporters were unable to track down a San Francisco address or phone number for the woman. Our sources tell us that's because she doesn't live here and isn't Kerry Campbell.

San Francisco Human Services Director Trent Rhorer declined to comment on the matter Monday, citing confidentiality laws in juvenile cases. But he did say that "we have completed our investigation, and we are no longer involved in the case."

In California, county welfare agencies have jurisdiction only over families that reside in their counties.

As for the woman's true identity and where she actually lives, that remains unclear - but apparently, she isn't a Bay Area resident. How much of the rest of her story was on the level - the Botox, the child beauty contests - also is not known.

ABC News, citing unnamed sources, said child welfare officials where the family lives removed the girl from her home over the weekend.

"Good Morning America" picked up the original story from the British tabloid the Sun, which reported in March that Kerry Campbell was a 34-year-old former beautician from Birmingham, England, who had moved to San Francisco. The paper quoted the mom as saying, "What I am doing for Britney now will help her become a star."

When the story ran on "Good Morning America," the mom's age was given as 38. She was shown injecting what she said was Botox into the face of her daughter. The daughter said the shots "hurt sometimes, but I get used to it."

As for how Child Protective services officials finally located mom and daughter? We're told they were certainly recognizable to the locals from their TV appearances.

@lander

i don't see a problem with this. it's every girl's dream to win a beauty pageant and bag a millionaire husband.

give the lady a break. it's not like she gave her a boob job in the basement.

The saddest part about all of this is that this child is probably crying for her emotionally abusive Mother as we speak :(

Serves this mother right! I think it's so wrong to dress these little girls up with the make-up and hair and have them prance and pose on stage. These mother's are taking away their daughters childhood and sending the wrong message to them. They need to stop living their lives vicariously thru their daughters, and let them find self-satisfaction without using their children!

Leader of the ignorant masses

Now i have two daughters who have both been asked to do modeling and pageants. I refused to even consider the offers. First off my priority as a father is to raise my children to value substance over beauty. Hard work over relying on looks. I just cannot understand why anyone would parade their child around. Why would i put my children in a situation where they are painted up in makeup and dressed in clothing that simply does not belong on a child? As a parent my first thought was not about glamour or fame, but what kind of people would want to see a child dressed as a adult and parade in front of them for attention? What kind of person wants to see children dressed as adults and what kind of people would put on a spectacle like this?

I once saw a special on tv where parents would leave their children in a room alone with people claiming to be talent agents. It was actually a hidden camera capturing how easily these parents would go along with whatever they were told so they could get a chance at fame. How do you sacrifice every instinct as a parent to protect your child just to gain fame? These parents need to focus on a solid education and help their child grow up with strong values. The world does not need another Paris Hilton, it needs strong educated people who will contribute something substantial to the world.
