Child Protective Services in San Francisco launched an investigation last week after Kerry Campbell went on "Good Morning America" and told the world she gave her daughter Britney the anti-wrinkle injections herself ... to help her compete in beauty pageants.

According to ABC News, Britney has been removed from the home by CPS and taken into their custody while an investigation is conducted.

Britney is reportedly "doing well."

I think these sicko Pageants sexualizing children, should be outlawed! They are clearly rife for pedophilia and sick parent-child issues. Further, I don't believe any children forced to be obsessed about their outer apperance and taught that is their only value in life, can ever, ever have a close to "normal" life.

Further, I feel very sorry for mothers of little pageant girls. They are usually quite unattractive and usually obese. It is clear they have deep psychological issues to try to get reflected glory and admiration from their daughters' "beauty" successes. They think their only value is what they look like, and don't want their kids to suffer like this. How many Adult Beauty Queens subject their children to this? How many Child Pageant winners?

All that said, I believe that, however perverted this woman's values are (and understanding why) she truly loves her child. I think it compounds the sick value system she has learned, and that tormenting this poor child by putting her in foster care takes any chance of a good life from her.

I commented earlier on another post- my husband is a plastic surgeon and that is a controlled medicine. Even with trained doctors or untrained doctors you can actually hit a nerve cause facial paralysis and in the hands of an amateur it's dangerous. One thing most people don't realize is that the efficacy of botox only lasts a few hours once the bottle is opened. That's why they have botox parties so that they can use the whole bottle because the rest you throw away. So for all the adults out there getting botox make sure that you see the doctor open a fresh bottle in front of you to get the maximum efficacy or ask the nurse when they opened the bottle. If they said yesterday then they are cutting corners and your botox will last a few weeks instead of months.

Child Protective Services removed the child while an investigation is going on due to risk of child endangerment. When Charles Sophy, D.O.(not M.D.) went on TV and gave his opinion regarding what should be done, it triggered the removal. There are Court appearances and ultimately a decision is made for permanency. No has has been proven guilty of anything. Many Mothers relive their life through their daughters. Beauty pageants, makeup, hairstyles, dancing, etc may be too much for children.

What an evil mother!! We all have to go through life with lines! To subject a little girl to such painful, egotistic, vain culture is just wrong. Why didn't she as the mother achieve this for herself? Stupid cow. They should now subject dear beloved mommy to some miracle product that will immediately give her wrinkled - no iron cure skin. Cow!

As bad as what she did is the truth of the matter is chances are that little girl is in a far worse situation with CPS. I don't know if any of you know what goes on in those situations but they are severally over crowded and children are most times abused and beaten by the other children. So yes what the woman did was bad but being in foster care or being taken care of by the state may prove to be hell no one could ever imagine for this girl. So really her mother needs counseling and someone checking up on them or the little girl needs to be with family but if she is in the system she would have been better off with her mom than the horrors on endures as a child in the system.

Turns out the mom who says she gave her 8-year-old daughter Botox beauty treatments doesn't actually live in San Francisco.

Nor, for that matter, is her real name Kerry Campbell.

San Francisco officials were deluged with inquiries last week after the woman went on ABC's "Good Morning America" and said she was administering Botox injections to her 8-year-old daughter to give her a better chance of winning child beauty contests. She said she was a trained esthetician and that the girl's name was Britney. The city said it would look into it all.

Reporters were unable to track down a San Francisco address or phone number for the woman. Our sources tell us that's because she doesn't live here and isn't Kerry Campbell.

San Francisco Human Services Director Trent Rhorer declined to comment on the matter Monday, citing confidentiality laws in juvenile cases. But he did say that "we have completed our investigation, and we are no longer involved in the case."

In California, county welfare agencies have jurisdiction only over families that reside in their counties.

As for the woman's true identity and where she actually lives, that remains unclear - but apparently, she isn't a Bay Area resident. How much of the rest of her story was on the level - the Botox, the child beauty contests - also is not known.

ABC News, citing unnamed sources, said child welfare officials where the family lives removed the girl from her home over the weekend.

"Good Morning America" picked up the original story from the British tabloid the Sun, which reported in March that Kerry Campbell was a 34-year-old former beautician from Birmingham, England, who had moved to San Francisco. The paper quoted the mom as saying, "What I am doing for Britney now will help her become a star."

When the story ran on "Good Morning America," the mom's age was given as 38. She was shown injecting what she said was Botox into the face of her daughter. The daughter said the shots "hurt sometimes, but I get used to it."

As for how Child Protective services officials finally located mom and daughter? We're told they were certainly recognizable to the locals from their TV appearances.

Glad to hear it! I wonder though how many other pageant mom's are scared of getting ratted out by their kids for doing the same thing, you know this was not an isolated case!

Good.

I think the whole "child beauty pageant" business is organized, legal Child Abuse. Plain and simple.

The PROBLEM here is that this "mother" has convinced her 8 year old daughter that she has wrinkles and they need to be "fixed." That's what the problem is. To be "honest" this little girl isn't really a natural beauty. She's a normal kid. I saw her in an interview skipping and she was adorable but she's not a stunning beauty. It was mind blowing to me that the mother thought that botox would help her daughter in any way. I think this mother thought she would be thought of as "cool" for giving her daughter botox.

There's nothing wrong with child beauty contests. I don't believe in the ones where they go overboard with the hair extensions, fake tans etc. But there's nothing wrong with it and the kids can win a TON of money!!! It also costs money to compete.
