Charlie Sheen

Borrows $10 Mil

from Warner Bros.

5/17/2011 5:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen -- who scored the biggest paycheck in TV before getting the boot -- had to borrow a huge amount of money from Warner Bros. during his last season on "Two and a Half Men."

0215-charlie-twomen-logo-ex
TMZ has obtained Charlie's contract for Season 7 (2010 - 2011).  The document -- dated May 17, 2010 -- requires Warner Bros. to pay Charlie $10 million within 10 days of the date Charlie signed.  Charlie was then obligated to pay the money back during the first 13 episodes.

To repay the loan, Sheen -- who was getting a base pay of $1.25 million a show -- had $769,230.77 deducted from each paycheck for the first 13 episodes.   But then there's this pesky issue of interest.  Under the deal, the interest -- calculated at the prime commercial rate -- would be deducted from the 14th paycheck.

Charlie was fired after the 16th episode, so Warner Bros. got its $$$ back.

As for why Charlie needed the money ... unclear.  With his profit participation, Charlie was raking in more than $2 million an episode, but it seems he was still burning a hole in his pocket.

On the bright side for Charlie, he was doing really well.  We got a copy of his original contract, and in Season 1, he made $160,000 an episode, and under the original deal he only got a 4% raise for additional seasons.  That contract was renegotiated after the show became successful.

Gee, I wonder if he could have been spending his loot on drugs, hookers and gambling? Just a hunch. CS deserves to go broke. If I had that kind of payday for a single MONTH I could retire forever.

It's really not a surprise. Huge amounts of drugs and hookers cost big bucks. I wonder how he will keep up his standard of living now?! Oh well..nothing lasts forever.
@Puckett- I'm surprised to hear that there are still people (you) still delusional enough to think that CS has any talent! He thought he could do whatever he wanted and the executives were going to have to come crawling back to him...guess what Charlie, you have been replaced...you screwed up and now life has moved on along with anyone (who has even a tiny bit of a brain)who thought you had any talent. YOU = LOSING :)

@Pucket ("Warner Bros. paid him mad amounts of money because he deserved every penny of it and they knew damned well he was worth every penny of it.") You obviously know NOTHING about business and how it works.

Chuckles is L O O O O O O O...O O O S I N G! They loaned him that money BEFORE his behavior got really out of hand, BEFORE he decided to start insulting his bosses, BEFORE...he decided not to only burn the bridges he had with them...but bury the ashes too. I said a long time ago the money he had/has coming in won't last him long...seems that's proving to be true sooner than later.

Hopefully Sleezy will run through his remaining cash soon. Then he will either address his problems and if not we may see him at trade shows hawking his electric cigarettes.

I'm sure Chuckles is as broke as a joke by now.

2 mil a week, yet he borrows from his employer??? This stupid, dumb as a box of rocks druggie will be sleeping on the beach soon enough. Good thing his dad Martin was all up in arms about the homeless sleeping on the beach in Malibu next to million dollar homes because he son will be there in about 60 seconds.

Denise and Brooke both better get jobs because their gravy train ride is so ovah and coming to a screeching halt.

This news raises even more questions about the advisability of donating to Sheen's online charity set up for Alabama. Nowhere on that site is there any information that states what percentage of the money raised is actually going to go for relief efforts in Alabama.

Although, this DOES explain why he's soliciting other people's money for his charitable efforts rather than kicking in himself. I guess that $325 he spent in Alabama was about the extent of what he can AFFORD to donate to worthy causes these days.

Think about it... he says he'll donate $1 for every ticket PURCHASED to his tour. He donated a percentage of the merchandise SALES at his San Fran show to the injured Giants fan. He set up an online donation site for OTHERS to give to Alabama. He's giving a percentage of profits from SALES of his new song.

He wants the buzz that comes with being a charitable person, but he can't afford to kick in personally. At least, that's my take on it with this story.

Glad I donated to the Red Cross instead - they're already on the ground, doing what needs to be done. Nowhere near as 'iffy' as donating to the "Help Charlie Sheen buy more hookers and crack" fund!

I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360... and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, MadCent.com

I thought he was being cheap with his donations, when really he was reaching deep in his pockets.
