'Idol' Finalists Tour Contract -- $1,000 per Show

5/21/2011 6:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"American Idol's" top 11 finalists are set to make bank over the summer -- because TMZ has learned they'll each get paid $1,000 for EVERY show they perform during the American Idol Live Tour.

TMZ obtained a copy of the contract all Idol finalists had to sign before the show -- which spells out exactly how much dough they'll pull in if they're invited to participate on the international tour.

In addition to the $1,000-per-concert -- the documents show each finalist will share in merchandise profits from the tour ... and will also receive $50 in spending cash for non-concert days.

Finalists are also guaranteed to stay in "Marriott/Hyatt style" hotel accommodations while on the road -- and will fly coach between tour stops.

According to the contract, the tour will kick off immediately after the Season 10 winner is announced on May 25 -- and will go until the end of September.

Not bad for a summer job.

50 dollars spending cash on their days off, how generous :) I guess they can go to burger king and maybe get something at walmart on the days off..

Theses shows arent about the talent.Their about making the bosses money. They could care less about the talent and the fans.

James Durbin should probably get paid twice as much because let's face it...he will be the most entertaining one there and put on the best show. I'm considering going just to see him.

That is horrible pay!!! They have been flying these kids in private jets by themselves, you would think that maybe they could charter a plane for the tour. Saves from a lot of chaos at the airports too. I really think you are going to see these numbers change as the public becomes more outraged. I think that when the kids sign on to go to Hollywood, they have to agree to tour if they make it to the finals, but this looks like Disney on Ice pay scales.

That's it? These performers are making hundreds of millions for the networks. These shows will pull in over $500k each and they are going to pay the talent a total of $12k a show?

That's only $11,000 in performer salaries per show. I would think most opening acts at a real concert would make more than that. Most of them should be happy though as I can only see Scotty and Pia having the potential for stardom (not guaranteed, just possible).

Hell no....American Idol has too much money to pay these kids what they're paying them. Keep this story in the press maybe to add some fire to the suits.

If this is FACT that they get only $1,000 per show, they are TRULY getting ripped off. How sad.

A $1000, I made half of that working yesterday. Well even the 100K grand prize is laughable compared to Simon X-Factor 5 Mil & Simon Americas Got Talent 1 Mil. Pia scored 100K to sign at a party for 1 night. The trick to Idol is to get as far as you can & not win otherwise you are stuck in a 7 year contract.

I think you missed the story TMZ -- that sounds like a real CUT in pay -- like, by half. I know I've read in the past that they each made $100,000 for prior summer tours (not including pocket money for off days).
