When 'Community' Met 'Cougar Town' ...

5/27/2011 8:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Abed Nadir finally lived out his lifelong dream when he appeared on this week's episode of "Cougar Town" -- of course, Abed is not a real person ... he's a character on the show "Community."

The creators of both shows have a mutual affinity for each other, which came together in a very meta way this week. During an episode of "Community" earlier this season, Abed (played by Danny Pudi) explained how he went to visit the set of "Cougar Town" and got to walk through a scene.

Although it wasn't exactly as Abed described (continuity error!!!), that scene aired this week ... with Abed not-so-conspicuously hanging in the background while two "CT" characters did their thing.

Actually, before he showed up on Cougar Town, 2 characters from (Cougar Town), the blonde girl in the pic (Busy Phillips) and the guy who plays Courtney Cox's son (Dan Byrd) had a cameo on Community's finale, during the paint ball scene outside, they were standing together in the parking lot as the last paint ball victims were falling. and we got a brief close up of them...

seems you didn't know that when u wrote this article!

btw, both are my fav comedies

Another tie-in.... "Ted" from Scrubs was in the CT finale as his character from Scrubs. Bill Lawrence created both Scrubs and Cougar Town and must have wanted to give his old show a shout out. Totally funny. I think it was the best CT episode so far.

Funny how TMZ got this clip from Citytv in Canada (notice the bug in the lower right corner). You'd think they could just pull it from an ABC affiliate directly being in Los Angeles. Huh. Go figure.

Cougar Town would be a good show if they got rid of the cougar part. The rest of the cast is funny. The cougar bit is forced and not funny.
