'X Factor' to Cheryl Cole: For Money, Not Love

6/5/2011 5:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Sources at "X Factor" tell TMZ ... FOX and Fremantle (the producers of the show) are trying to get Cheryl Cole back on the program, a week after giving her her walking papers ... but it's more about the bottom line than about loving Cheryl.

Our sources say when producers told Cheryl she wasnt right for the U.S. version of "X Factor," they tried to put her on the UK version of the show. Cheryl's managers wanted £2.5 million and producers thought it was too much, so the deal went south.

We're told Cheryl was due to get paid around $1.5 million for the U.S. show -- about what Paula Abdul and LA Reid are making -- but she has not decided whether to accept and come back.

The whole situation becomes even messier when you take into account Nicole Scherzinger -- who was originally hired as a host, but was moved to being a judge when Cheryl was axed. Her position on the show now seems to be up in the air.

Our sources say Cheryl's deal with the U.S version is "pay or play" -- meaning she gets paid whether she does the show or not. We're told execs at FOX -- and especially at Fremantle -- dont want to lose the money ... so it's better to have her on the show than not.

Hey dip ****, I mean anonymous cool (btw just because you call yourself cool doesn't mean you are ) My point in listing those acts is to show that acts that are extremely big in the UK doesn't mean they'll have the same success here in the US. In addition like I said before if you knew what you were talking about you would know that any record producer or label would love to have a success rate of 43 %

If she really would have been fired 2 weeks ago then Fox or Simon would have mande an announcement, that never came. She was never fired. This a PR move to raise the attention/drama for the show.

@ Drew

Those acts...well 6 of them never thought of cracking USA. They wanted to be successful in the UK. The only Syco act who cracked the USA is the novelty Leona Lewis.

My point is if they cant even make it in the UK, what are the chances of them making it in the USA. Clearly Syco is advising them wrongly or else the failure rate would not be so high.

One would expect since they receive close to 2 months of publicity, Syco would give them something good to release but instead Syco gives them mediocre songs that they even fail in the UK. SyCo does not know about music.

Just count the money Simon Cowell is paying you to defend the indefensible here.

lol @drew, African American's are black folks from the United States who are descended from American slaves. The woman Cheryl assaulted was an immigrant from Africa living in the UK, she's not African American.

Cheryl is a racist swine whether you like it or not Drew (obviously you belong to her club LOL), her actions and aftermath speak louder than words, had this happened in the USA she would not have gone so freely as she did. But then again Linds in sun tanning in the roof top so ..yeah , slap on the wrist here too.:( even though she is guilty...

Moondust, you called Adelle a **** and you call me an idiot--- really ? My point is just because one person is white and the other person is not, doesn't mean any confrontation has to have any racist undertones. I can totally see a bigger girl black or white coming after Cheryl because she took 3 instead of one lollipop and Cheryl being startled and feeling the need to defend herself. I hope this isn't too hard for you to comprehend. Also you don't know me or my girlfriend who is a woman of color.

whos Cheryl Cole?
She doesnt deserve it. To the people who want to argue that she does are nothing but obsessed fans. The girl has done nothing in America, Shes done One interview, she doesnt know how to promote herself, must always hold someones hand and rely on them to make her look good, If she doesnt get what she wants she cries and makes it look like shes the victim. The dumb broad had a good opertunity to promote herself during & after the LA tapings. She flew off to another country or hid in her hotel room. What dummy does that. You want to get known out there but I guess its too much trouble for Herself to do that. She needs to rely on Cowell & her idiot of a manager Will.I.Am.
She cant even make it in the music industry in America without help from others. Like her awesome manager said shes going to be doing a bunch of collaborations with better well known artists.
If she does come back as a judge and they push Nicole back to "co-host" she should quit.

Moon Boy, I have not called you any names so I guess the fact that you feel the need to call others names here speaks volumes about you. BTW did you know that Cheryl was married to a black footballer ( that's what they call soccer players over there )
