Victory for Gay Cop

at Gay Pride Parade!

6/7/2011 5:46 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Gloria Allred knows how to get results.  The California Department of Corrections has just folded like a cheap suit and will now allow a gay corrections officer to march in uniform in Sunday's West Hollywood Gay Pride Parade.

Officer Andrew Johnson and Allred held a news conference today and filed a complaint, alleging the Department was guilty of discrimination based on sexual orientation when it refused to allow Johnson to march in uniform, on grounds it would be a "discredit" to the Department.

The Department now says, "CDCR acknowledges that [its policy] is outdated and requires careful revision.  Therefore, Correctional Officer Andrew Johnson will be allowed to wear the CDCR uniform in the upcoming Gay Pride Parade..."

Well isn't that wonderful...another petty point has been made by someone who completely defines themselves according to their sexual preferrences. The world is so much better now that one person's sexual deviance has been glorified and made into a political statement.
Do we feel better now?

But let's get a couple points straight (no pun intended):

He's a CORRECTIONS OFFICER in a women's prison...HE'S NOT A COP!!!

Get it right. That changes a lot of things. For one, he is not responsible to enforce laws or make arrests, just keep convicted women in line, so he's not breaking any oath.

Therefore, his marching isn't as big an accomplishment as if he were actually a police officer sworn to uphold the laws that are on the books, like the sodomy laws.

So don't give him victories he hasn't earned. He now represents the California Penal System...NOT policemen!

One wonders if he would be so insistent about flaunting his sexuality if he was a corrections officer in a MEN'S prison.

Yeah very good for him!!! Now they are going to try and find a way to fire him without being "discriminitive"

A phobia is an irrational FEAR. Disagreeing with, or being disgusted with a particular point of view or activity DOES NOT CONSTITUTE FEAR. Get that through your hypersensitive little skulls.

If you behave in a deviate manner, you are going to experience the disapproval, or ire, of those who object to your deviance.
That does NOT translate to them FEARING you or your behavior. They simply don't like it. That's as much their right as your choice/behavior is yours.

Singing out "homophobia" every time someone voices an objection to the lifestyle actually makes you look HETEROPHOBIC!

So get off your fabulously coiffed and accessorized high horse and realize that you and your "lifestyle" aren't at the center of everyone's universe and inflicting your preferrences, disguised as rights, on others who don't share them will get an adverse reaction every time.

Get used to it, sweetie!

When's the hetrosexual parade....
Only people that are not hetro consider their sexuality a concern than needs to be paraded.
It's a blatant effort for acceptance in a society.

Homophobic people tend to be closeted homosexuals. Why else have such a visceral and fairly hateful response to this? I am straight and frankly have to question what causes anyone to get bent out of shape by this issue. The world is not going to come to an end when this parade takes place.

As a gay man , i can honestly tell you that the gay pride parade represents a small and embarassing segment of the gay population, it is definitley not the way most of us want to be portrayed. I cant imagine why any self respecting man, let alone a police officer would want to show his face at this spectacle. I can totally understand the PD's stance on this.

I can't believe CDCR is letting this CO march the gay parade in uniform. It's F rediculous. CO's refer to inmates as being gay. I wonder what the inmates are going to think of CO's. This is just too funny! I have nothing against gay people, but he should have some respect for his other brothers in the department. Good luck CO's soon you guys will be getting hit on by inmates.

en Todo Momento!!

which in turn leads back to this article, that is an indication to all 'non homosexuals'....that the hommo brigade is indeed, armed and present in even the police forces across the country, and that 'homophobes' shouldn't feel so safe in the presence of 'uniformed' proud homosexuals, just because they assume that a police uniform is a sign of a right-er worldview (which it is, indeed, actually, so why join something that you inherently oppose, i wonder....) hhaaha, really... well maybe some random dead hommos will be the result of the same coalition....i'm just aguessin....
