Willie Nelson

$500 Fine In Marijuana Case

6/7/2011 12:13 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Willie Nelson can breath easy again in Texas -- TMZ has learned the singer struck a plea deal in his marijuana case ... and will NOT have to do any hard time.

Sources close to Willie tell us ... Nelson agreed to plead no contest to misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia ... stemming from an incident last year, when cops say they found weed on the singer's tour bus at a border checkpoint.

Nelson was originally charged with marijuana possession -- but the singer worked out a deal with prosecutors in which they agreed to reduce the charge in exchange for a no contest plea.

As part of the deal, Willie has also agreed to pay a $500 fine -- and if he can stay out of trouble for 30 days, the judge will dismiss the case entirely.

Nelson's lawyer, Joe Turner, tells TMZ, "Willie is glad to have it all behind him. Everyone was very fair."

A $500. fine and a bill from his lawyer for $5000. Incidentally, how is Willie different from your run of the mill drug addict? This guy has been a doper his entire adult life. Rather than admiring him, how about feeling sorry for him? Besides his brain being f'd up, how about his lungs?

The rest of use would be doing some time in jail if not prison, but any MJ victory in the war on drugs is a good one. Go Willie!

So, Willie has to stay home and have no guests there that he doesn't trust for 30 days, and the authorities will drop the charges against him. Lovely! Isn't it great to have a VIP Rule and one law for the rich and famous which lets them get off, and one law for the poor people that sentences them to jail for 20 or so years for the same "offense"? Can't beat American democracy! And they pretend that it's a democracy with equal rights for all. Funny! All men may be born equal but they sure aren't treated equal by the police of the DAs after they're born. That's for sure. Love Willie! Willie loves America! Of course, he's stoned most of the time, but so what? He's a celebrity so he's entitled! Blue Skies!

Why would i feel sorry for him? He's an incredible talented musician, a successful business man and he's lived life on his terms and seems to enjoy his life greatly. Which by the way is how he differs from your "run of the mill drug addict", dumbass.

alcohol IS THE worst drug as far as inebriation and it's legal. as a plant marijuana not only has medical benefits but as a plant has more uses than trees and crop cycles are every 6m to 26 yrs. Like I always say, " Pot lays ya back, Alcohol gets ya laid.

What I don't understand is why all the politically correct do-gooders are raging against the current MaryJane laws.
They were founded and crafted in racism, as a means to drive immigrant workers back to Mexico during the Great Depression and then strengthened as a government effort to control blacks, hispanics and young white kids.
All by short-sighted, tobacco-smoking, Martini-swilling career politicians who saw a chance to put certain groups under their tyrannical thumb.

LEGALIZE WEED!!!
GIVE THE aMERICAN FARMER A CASH CROP.
GIVE R.J. REYNOLDS SOMETHING TO ROLL OTHER THAN TOBACCO.
EMPTY THE COURTS AND JAILS OF TEENAGERS WHO DON'T DESERVE TO HAVE THEIR LIVES RUINED OVER A LITTLE PLANT MATTER.
TAKE A HUGE CHUNK OF THE DRUG CARTELS INCOME AWAY.

Oh...I forgot....too many politicians are owned by the cartels (whether they know it or not).

The ones that really pizz me off are the 50-somethings from my generation who act as if they never tried it. Yeah...right! I was there...I saw you take a hit off the doobie I passed to you. Quit being such a hypocrite.
