Obama: If I Were Weiner, I'd Resign

6/13/2011 3:57 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

President Obama just made a bold statement about Congressman Anthony Weiner's predicament ... "I can tell you that if it were me, I'd resign."

0614_obama_video

Obama, who made his statement to "Today" anchor Ann Curry for broadcast Tuesday, said "Well, obviously what he did was highly inappropriate.  I think he's embarrassed himself, he's acknowledged that, he's embarrassed his wife and his family."

Obama continued, "And when you get to the point where, because of various personal distractions, you can't serve as effectively as you need to -- at the time when people are worrying about jobs and their mortgages and paying the bills -- then you should probably step back."

FYI, Obama also suggested last year that Congressman Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) resign on ethical grounds, but he stayed put.

yeah, but obama is like the principle of a high school, and all the folks in congress are like a huge mob of high school students, practicing to be the president and acting stupid, often. there is no way you can put both these people in the same boat. weiner: was acting like a weiner. obama: needs to show that he can put him back in line and correct him. that should be his job as the president. this isn't 'durvivor' where "unfit" folks get eliminated. people just really seem pretty dumb to belive such ways of operating a society, a 'civilization' are intelligent, at all.

Why hasn't Congress kicked Rangel out by now? Will Congress kick Weiner out? How big of a bum, crook or pervert does someone have to be to be kicked out of Congress if they refuse to resign?

*

Vitter still hasn't resigned nor been kicked out. That being the case why should Rangel and or Weiner?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/07/09/national/main3037338.shtml

(CBS/AP) Louisiana Sen. David Vitter {R} whose telephone number was disclosed by the so-called "D.C. Madam" accused of running a prostitution ring, says he is sorry for a "serious sin" and that he has already made peace with his wife. "This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible," Vitter said Monday in a printed statement.

and anyways....that (what 'obama' said) is clearly the peso talkin, and not the dollar. democrats? all need the mexican bote, and they, due to the previous election results, have to adhere to those factions of the population that elected them. this means, that if the latinos in a particular state voted for obama/democratic representatives, then the PRESIDENT!! HAS TO!! MUST OBEY BY THE WISHES AND DEMANDS EXEMPLIFIED BY THESE STATES AND THESE POPULATION GROUPS! and their congresspeople do make sure that the president is following according to their agenda, otherwise it can and will be exposed as 'the president acting on his own behalf, and not on behalf of the poople who elected him. yes, the do keep track of that very pedantically. otherwise they call racism and or discrimination. go figure.

What does it matter if obama plays golf or not if bush is playing golf yall wouldn't complain the state of the world and where its at is becasue of the decisions of lots of people not just obama he's doing his best just go with it and if you have a problem vote some one different when the time comes if not just keep your dum mouths shut its gonna be how it is your complaning isent gonna do anything about it
------------------------------------------------------------

Incorrect. Bush stopped playing golf in 2003 because he didn't feel comfortable any more in playing golf while American servicemen were giving their lives to their country in Afghanistan and Iraq and Bush didn't play gol****ain until Obama was inaugurated in 2009.

@Amtrack: I'm glad you're working now. Best of luck to you.

It just looks like Obama doesn't care much when he's always playing golf. It's like golf is more important than buckling down and doing the hard work of being President. Is that why he campaigned so hard to become President so he could play golf over 60 times in his first 2 years and 2 months in office? It's ridiculous. He should be ashamed of himself. We're at war, American soldiers are dying in Afghanistan and he's playing golf. Disgusting.

BHO should resign. He has made a horrible mess of everything that he has come in contact with begging the suggestions-
1.) Full disclosure of birth, marriage, etc... vital records. Show the original birth certificate not a contemporary facsimile. Have a sibling who was born in Hawaii about the same time and his bc is on white paper with a raised seal. Make an issue of a candidate like McCain's birth and the same rules apply to every candidate.
2.) Full disclosure of academic records. We want to see how these people did in school and make certain it is not an issue of social passing. We want people who perform well in school not an example of tokenism. Bush's grades in school were on the net as should be Obama's.
3.)Full disclosure of all political participation both in the public sector and private sectors ie... contributions. What laws, committees and political experience these people have had. Who they associated with and how much influence as well as funding they received from them. If a candidate has not completed a term, had no international experience, put bills through our congress, not served on committees then they do not have the experience necessary to run a nation. Which explains why we have such a large debt, massive unemployment, bailouts, and people with IQ's under 100 running this country.
4.) Remove all perks for serving in political office- no more special free healthcare, no more retirement funds, and by extension nothing to their family members.
5.) Finally hold these people financially and legally responsible for their support of countries and groups who financially benefit from the American tax payer. If jobs and companies go abroad with the same entities paying for political campaigns-go after them and shut them down. We need businesses and jobs here for our people. We pay twice for removal of American enterprise-no jobs here and then send our money abroad for products.
No Weiner's problem is self limiting. BHO is a larger problem-fire him in 2012.
