This did not happen because the 'Nucks lost the cup! This was going to happen either way! These people that started it intended to cause a some kind of disturbance no matter what! Why would some one need to bring a bandana or mask to watch a hockey game! It was preplanned! I am a Canadian and am embarassed by the actions of these complete morons!
That being said, TMZ it would be nice if you could find some pics from today, in contrast with last night, many great people came out and helped clean up their city! Would be nice of you to show the flipside, if you're going to show the BS side!

Also, the loss cannot be wholy blamed on Lou...The Sedin Sisters didn't show up for the game, and neither did Kessler! That being said...Luongo is not a pressure goalie...never has been and never will be!

"The riot was all Roberto Luongo's fault. If he didn't choke this would not have happened"

BULL! These are a bunch of whackjobs out looking for trouble. REAL fans congratulated Boston and went home. I am DISGUSTED to even live in the same province with these IDIOTS!

I was watching the TMZ. The Vancouver Canucks kicked ass they didn't win. But The ********* who destroyed a beautiful city the whole world like TMZ saw what happen. But they didn't see the whole thing.

You didn't see the real fans and peole coming down to help clean the city up that is true Vancouver Canuck fans. I would love to see TMZ to come down to Vancouver BC Canada to see what a beautiful city we have with out putting the wrong story about the riot that happen.

This would have happened anyways. These people were planning to riot HOURS before the game even started. Why wasn't there a larger VPD presence downtown? With 100,000 people DT, and few police officers and security in sight... what a SUPRISE. Transit out of the DT core was a joke: no busses running, and sky train jam packed after the game.

TMZ, you need to show today's clean-up effort by the people of the lower mainland. This clean-up was being planned on facebook while the riot was going on.

Let's start our healing, Vancouver.

I am a proud canuck , those morons went there for a riot no matter what happened win or loose, they are not hockey fans, they are fight fans and it is not Roberto Luongo' fault, if it was a best of 5 vancouver won, it is getting old already the blaming the goalie, cant win a game if you don't score goals
And roberto did just fine when he helped get us the Gold
vancouver folks as well as most of us BC'ers want nothing more then these jerks rounded up and dealt with.
Lets not turn Hockey into what goes on in soccer, give it a rest

Thank you Vanessa for your post and all the real Fans feel this way so I am re-posting what you said.
These rioters were not "fans" as you refered them as, the REAL fans would NEVER stoop so low. These people were drunks crackheads and losers and the fact that you would label us ALL because of thier stupidity just goes to show how little you know about REAL hockey fans. Vancouver played a great season and lost to a great team, the real fans have accepted that. Why don't you show a video of how people from all over the lower mainland came out to help clean up the mess caused by these douchebag's
you want to see the face of a REAL fan?? look here

It makes no difference if the rioters were fans or not. The bottom line is the american teams can't play a championship game up there without putting their safety at risk. The league needs to pull canadian teams off the roster until their cities can control their fans and non fans alike. Who's to say they weren't actual fans anyway?

Leave it to the canadians to destroy their own city after a loss and throw flash grenades at one another. I forgot about the G8 wilding a few years ago also. What a mess that was. It's a miracle that they've managed to host the olympics as much as they have. Those days are over now.

I'm a Canucks fan, and the team was outplayed. But these riots were about so much more than the loss. Sad an embarrassed beyond belief in Vancouver, world - please know we're as furious as anybody else that a crowd of drunks gathering for a hockey game that ended in a loss turned into the destruction of our city.

As many people have said, these riots are embarrassing and do not represent Vancouver. I absolutely love my city and it was very sad and difficult to watch it being torn apart.

Thank you to the hundreds of people that helped put our city back together the following day. These are the people who represent Vancouver.

With social media, most of the rioters and looters are being arrested, thankfully.

Well thanks TMZ for making all of Canada look like we are all like that. No we didnt want to destroy the city, but yes there some idiots trying to cause problems and used the hockey game as an excuse....why dont you see what Canada is really all about instead of looking at just the negitive part. Im sure if Boston LOST there would have been a riot somewhere!! http://canucks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=566199

Vancouver fans got excited because their town is lame and they wanted to get some attention after their team failed. They will riot there every time they almost win. Spending time in that city makes Saskatoon seem exciting. People should riot every night so they have something to do.

You have no idea how a professional sports league operates, or else you wouldn't put forth such a silly notion as dropping Canadian venues from the NHL schedule. What this necessitates is folding the entire league due to the actions o*****roup of hooligans (talk about sending the wrong message).

NHL teams cross the border daily during the regular season without incident. Canadian players make up the majority of NHL players, and the league depends heavily on Canadian revenue for support and player development. No other country has as deep a grass-roots level of development of this sport as does Canada. No Canada = No NHL.

The rest of your factoid laden observation reads as more of the same anti-Canadian sentiment that pops up in every Canada-related thread. Leave it to Zanny to be so stereotypically ill-informed about her neighbor to the north.
