Dorinha: I'm still searching in vain through your posts for an explanation for why the rioting occurred. You have hinted that it was much darker in tone than what I suggested - and I admit I'm even more intrigued - but still nothing to hang my hat on. If I had some inkling as to why it happened, I am open minded enough to consider that I may have been mistaken. I know one thing, the media isn't going to report that it was motivated my anti-american sentiment, neither will the politicians or police for that matter. I was trying to settle on it being the result of hockey hooliganism, but you reject that theory as well. Did the game day coincide with a pagan holiday? What am I missing here?

I get your point about not making blanket statements or generalizing about my experiences in Canada. While it's true not everyone has had the miserable times I have had there, the point I'm trying to make is that there are some who do, and it should be taken into account. If it's not addressed, then what's to stop it from happening again? If you guys don't have a handle on why that riot occurred how can you possibly begin to address it?

Put yourself in my shoes for a minute. If you traveled to the US and were involved in a road rage incident with not one, but 5 truckers who made the one from the movie 'Dual' look tame, would you want to come back? If you happened upon a ramshackle US customs station straight out of a Hitch**** movie and were detained for hours while and old geezer and his redneck sidekick tried everything in their power to break you and take your car, would you risk going back? What about getting your credit card stolen and having $4000 worth of clothing charged on it within an hour? I could go on and on. If you had these same experiences, you would begin to form an opinion if not for the sake of instinct alone! People have instincts just like animals do. It's what we call upon to keep us safe. It took me too long to listen to my own, and I've given Canada enough chances.

I'm sorry but your(and the Canadian)approach to the hooligan problem is all wrong. You would be better off calling a spade a spade and exposing it/them for what it is. Admit there's a problem and make them clean up their own messes. It would make them much less brazen in the future.

FYI - there's a picture of you next to 'Loquacious' in the thesaurus. Just thought you might like to know.

idiots, clearly the people that were rioting where drunk or where from delta and surrey. All the real Canucks fans went home or stayed away from the riots.

Can't believe the media keeps on posting **** about the Canucks riot and ever post anything about the Montreal riots that happen like every year. There's been plenty of riots over hockey for decades.
