Republican Senator: 'F**k It,' Gays Should Marry

6/17/2011 11:24 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Republican New York State Senator Roy McDonald has SHATTERED party lines in support of gay marriage -- telling reporters, "F**k it, I don't care what you think. I'm trying to do the right thing."

The battle rages on in New York to legalize gay marriage -- but McDonald threw his hat in the ring earlier this week ... with the greatest statement of all time, claiming, "You get to the point where you evolve in your life where everything isn't black and white, good and bad, and you try to do the right thing."

"You might not like that. You might be very cynical about that. Well, f**k it, I don't care what you think. I'm trying to do the right thing."

"I'm tired of Republican-Democrat politics. They can take the job and shove it. I come from a blue-collar background. I'm trying to do the right thing, and that's where I'm going with this."

With McDonald's support, the gay marriage bill is only ONE vote shy of being made into law -- which would make New York the sixth state to legalize gay marriage.

Good for him!!! His constituents should be proud to have a man like him representing them. It's refreshing to see someone who votes their own convictions and not the party line.

Mr. Clean Mr. Clean

Yes! "F*** it, do the right thing" Words to live by!

The more America continues to turn away from God and his teachings; we will continue in a downward spiral. We are slowly elimintating God from our country, and look at how we are declining as a nation.

Horrible of him to give up on his morals. He lost himself to being pushed around and bullied into a decision he is clearly not satisfied in making.

The right thing is to obey God's laws.

"When a man lies down with a male the same as one lies down with a woman, both of them have done a detestable thing. They should be put to death without fail." Leviticus 20:13

Good on Mr. McDonald for bucking the bigotry of his own party, and putting principle before career.

It's interesting how many people here are spouting off about "God" and "morals" to justify their hatred of others.

Don't blame God for your failures as a human being. Take responsibility for your own lack of morals that you're trying to project onto others here.

@Sun

The majority of Islamic nations live strictly by the word of god(same god, different name)and most of those live one step above the stone age. They tend to be both oppressive and repressive.I'll pass.

Religion has no place in politics. That's borderline Theocracy, which history has proven fails miserably. It's about time a politician said 'F*ck it' and voted what is morally right as a human being, not morally right based on religion.

So,what your saying is you believe and will strictly follow these passages of the bible:

MARK 12:18-27
If a man dies childless, his widow is ordered by biblical law to have intercourse with each of his brothers in turn until she bears her deceased husband a male heir.

LEVITICUS 18:19
The Bible forbids a married couple from having sexual intercourse during a woman's period. If they disobey, both shall be executed.

DEUTERONOMY 22:13-21
If it is discovered that a bride is not a virgin, the Bible demands that she be executed by stoning immediately.

DEUTERONOMY 22:22
If a married person has sex with someone else's husband or wife, the Bible commands that both adulterers be stoned to death.

Are you willing to be the one to cast the first stone?

Now the guy needs to support Polygamy and anyone else that wants to marry whomever they want. Then we will all be equal.

@ jonadab and @Kirkh. Both of your interpretations are wrong in my opinion.. The only God's law is the Ten commandments... That's it. Nothing else.. The Bible was written after Jesus's death, written by the disciples. John, mathew, Luke...ect. Man is vulnerable to many things, even priests... god even said not to worship false idols nor pray to any, but yet what do us as Catholics do? We have a statue of Jesus on the cross un our church and we pray to mother Mary... The bible says only pray to him right?

This piece of **** doesn't belong in the Republican party!Marriage is between a man and a woman and it will always be that way. If this punk gives in to the sex perverts, he should switch to the party of perverts, the Democrat party!!

Listen, I'll tell you this- America was founded on equality for ALL. Why do we continue to discriminate against our own citizens? If Gay and Lesbian citizens want to marry, then so be it. After all the Constitution was constructed to protect us ALL. Elected Politicians should never forget that.
