Bam Margera's Parents: Bam Is 'Devastated'

6/20/2011 2:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Bam Margera is "devastated" after hearing news of his friend Ryan Dunn's death today -- and according to Bam's parents, they're worried about their son.

Bam Margera
April and Phil Margera sat for an emotional interview with MyFoxPhilly earlier today -- claiming, "We're just worried about Bam. He's out of town and was just told. He's devastated."

Bam's mom was especially choked up during the interview -- telling Fox, "I can't believe it ... [Ryan] was part of our family ... He always used to call me on Mother's Day."

Ryan

This is vary sad, I had always wanted to meet Ryan and the rest of the Jackass people. They seem like alot of fun and they deffinitly live life to the fullest while so many of us spend our lives as slaves patiently waiting for our turn to die. I have lost 12 friends in the past 2 years from drugs, wars, and variouse accidents...but they all have one thing in common they were living there life to the fullest. R.I.P Ryan you can at least rest in peace knowing that you brought joy into a grey world and that you made the most of your life. My sympathy to everyone who feels the same pain I do.

While it is tragic that another person died in the car, it was that person's decision to get in the car in the first place. You expect Ryan to have known that he was going to die and purposely let the passenger die?

Elizabeth from Michigan, the passenger in the car was just as responsible as Ryan for reckless behavior. He was intoxicated, as well, and made the decision to get in the car.

Regardless, it's a terrible loss. Ryan will be missed and my thoughts go out the friends and family members of the two.

so we're supposed to be devestated because this jackass got drunk, got behind the wheel, killed his passenger, and his car went up in flames? uh, sorry - NO. I will feel sorry for the passenger, the family, and those left behind. But not the JACKASS.

"Grieve the passenger who was killed by a drunk driver."

When the passenger got in the car he probably knew Ryan wasn't sober, so that's his own mistake really.

This is surely a tragedy for all those involved--when will people learn to just call a cab and get their car the next day? I went by the accident scene today, it was sheer caos news vans everywhere, fans taking photos of the site and a Nice Police officer patiently sitting in his car to make sure no one gets hurt at the scene, if it wasn't such a danger I wanted to give that officer a cold coke----the jackasses who go there should be arrested---you don't belong there --it's a accident scene--let the Police go do other work

People need to understand, a death is a death. Yes, he was drunk, yes someone else died. But, he was still someone's son, someone's brother. He may have done idiotic things that lead to this tragedy, but that by no means gives another person the right to disregard their life.

these people are in denial about the condition of their son and the other boys in the "jackass family" who are feeding off one anothers dysfunction and addictions.
If there's anything I see here it's fear and denial. Not true friendship and love
