Coroner: Ryan Dunn Died Violent Death

6/21/2011 10:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn and his passenger each died as result of both blunt force trauma AND the fire that consumed Dunn's Porsche during the crash Monday morning ... this according to the Chester County Coroner.

Ryan Dunn Cause of Death

The Coroner's Office just released the autopsy results for both men -- who, we're told, were each dead by the time officials arrived at the scene.

Based on the autopsy results, the crash was so violent, it seems it was impossible to determine if the two died from the impact of the crash itself or from the fire that resulted.

Officials say the toxicology results for both men -- which would help determine the role alcohol played in the crash -- will be released in 4 to 6 weeks.

TMZ previously reported, officials believe Dunn's car veered off the highway and crashed in a wooded area Monday morning ... before exploding in flames. Investigators believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.

"I don’t care if you’re Blake Lively or the stockboy at Walmart, anytime you decide, drunk or sober, to put innocent people’s lives at risk to make your hot-**** car go “vroom,” some form of Darwinism takes place when you’re removed from the gene pool." -The Superficial

Silly

Its just stupid don't drink and drive had he survived and his passenger lived he would have been charged with vehicular manslaughter! I was completely his fault and totally preventable!

At least 3 beers PLUS 3 shots = you should NOT be driving.

Who can argue with that? It's the LAW. It's common sense.

Don't hate on those who would like this tragedy to do some good and use his celebrity to help "educate" the public so less people have to die.

Also the assistant district attorney in Chester has confirmed that Ryan Dunn was arrested and charged with DUI back in 2005. He completed the requirements of his probation and did some classes.. and so the DUI is not on his criminal record (although it is part of public record)..

So he had a history of drinking and driving.

I know people make bad judgments when they're in their early 20s, but at 34 yrs old - you should know better than to drink and drive, especially since he had previously been arrested for it.

There really is no excuse for driving while drunk.

Period.

What a shame. Looks like his final jackass trick didn't turn out so well. Such a tragic story, but perhaps not so surprising.
As the old saying goes:

Wow...all of you are so quick to judge, and yet family and friends are mourning the loss of their loved ones...have you any souls? No matter what, they did not deserve to die such a violent death. This is a horrible tragedy. RIP. you will truly be missed....

3 shot's is nothing, you get that many in most drinks in a good place. I like beer also but would not drive on more than one.

ahahah

I don't know ... I consider a "violent death" one where you're aware, in pain and fighting for your life. I kinda think these two died on impact. They probably didn't even feel a thing. Not that it makes them any less dead - just saying -- they probably didn't suffer the way their relatives will due to their choices.

nobody important

Some thoughts:

1. "legally" drunk or not you shouldn't drive after a drink.
2. he can obviously afford a cab because he was driving a damn porshe
3. Ryan didn't murder anyone...his passenger committed suicide when he opted to ride in Dunn's car
4. Drunk or not...driving 100+ mph is stupid at anytime of the day...especially on a small road like he was on (or it appears to be small in the picture
5. His family should be thankful he didn't hit another vehicle on the road and kill innocent people.
