Coroner: Ryan Dunn Died Violent Death

6/21/2011 10:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn and his passenger each died as result of both blunt force trauma AND the fire that consumed Dunn's Porsche during the crash Monday morning ... this according to the Chester County Coroner.

Ryan Dunn Cause of Death

The Coroner's Office just released the autopsy results for both men -- who, we're told, were each dead by the time officials arrived at the scene.

Based on the autopsy results, the crash was so violent, it seems it was impossible to determine if the two died from the impact of the crash itself or from the fire that resulted.

Officials say the toxicology results for both men -- which would help determine the role alcohol played in the crash -- will be released in 4 to 6 weeks.

TMZ previously reported, officials believe Dunn's car veered off the highway and crashed in a wooded area Monday morning ... before exploding in flames. Investigators believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.

I am amazed so many people seem to think "why didn't the bartender stop him from drinking"? America is such a litigious country its ridiculous how everyone looks to blame someone else. If someone is obese they try to blame the fast food industry. Mate, you are the one who raised that burger to your mouth coz it made you feel good and you wanted more and more of that good feeling instead of knowing enough is enough. The same with the booze. Some people can know when enough is enough, others simply don't...and they will lie or pretend to be less drunk in order to be served once more. If they were dumb enough to drive there knowing they were gonna get tanked, they should have at least been smart enough to call a cab...but good luck with that!
Ryan not only ended up dying a horrible death but he killed a friend in the same way too. All coz of poor judgement, but then again, watching Jackass is a movie length tribute to just that, poor judgement. Who in their right mind needs a kick in the balls by a donkey or a toy car up their ass? *SMH*

Roger Ebert's comment on this may have been wrong timing and insensitive, but the truth of the matter is this, drinking and driving is stupid. If there had been a more populated street when he was behind the wheel then what?

Yeah, blame the bartender!

What a bunch of damn idiots, You need to be removed from society. The only one responsible for this is the jackass that was driving.

Exactly, I have racked up a few cars at a pretty good rate of speed (on a track) and let me tell you he was hauling ass. That porsche can hit 140 in 3rd gear and you've got 3 gears left.

It wasn't if, it was when. I hope no lawsuits come out to sue some poor bartender, thats a BS rule.

What is amazing to see are the photos of how little remains of that Porsche GT3 that Ryan was piloting. That is one of the best made cars in the world. No doubt they were flying low and left the pavement at an extremely high rate of speed. To crash and burn like that is something only trees can provide. At least
they probably died quickly on first impact with a tree. I wonder if the passenger was ready to exit this world. Bummer for Zach to have to watch it all go terribly wrong.

Good lord, the dumbest thing ive read on these hundreds of pages worth of comments is when people cry about respecting the families of these men. Are you really that retarded that you think the families are all grouped together reading the comments on tmz? Ryan Dunn obviously didnt give a **** how his family felt , or he wouldnt have gotten behind the wheel...over two times the legal drinking limit and over two times the legal speed limit. Any pain that is caused to the family by people speaking openly and honestly about impaired driving was actually pain caused by Dunn himself, if he hadnt been such a moron...we wouldnt be having this conversation now would we. In closing id like to point out that most of his friends and family members are as pissed off about the MULTITUDE OF BAD DECISIONS HE MADE HIMSELF THAT RESULTED IN HIS DEATH.

Quit placing blame on others--its NOT the bartenders fault, it isnt the bar owners fault, it isnt his friends fault. It was HIS fault for drinking and driving, speeding, not paying attention to where he was going...this is not any one else's fault! Some of this generation has some real issues with blaming others. Very scary.

Why can no one in this f***** country take on the role of self accountability?

This is NOT anybody's fault! People who think a bartender should babysit everyone who comes into the bar are ridiculous.

Moreover, I doubt anybody would actually want a bartender to do this all the time.

And lastly, Dunn wouldn't be caught dead at a place like that.

LOL..

I aint shedding any tears here and feel no remorse what-so-ever for Dunn or any other stupid ignorant fool that drives after partying and drinking.. To be going that damn fast and seeing the vague remains of a vehicle in the pictures posted afterward., well.., he got what he deserved.. Sad that another had to be in the doomed vehicle but he/she should have known better.. What a fool and jackass.! The tv show should give him a posthumous award for the most stupid and foolish act committed and another to Bam for being a whining biatch..

I certainly hope that his last action on this earth haunts him for eternity and the Dear Lord (if the dude makes it upstairs) reminds and replays it in the dudes eyes daily..

Ya drink., Ya drive., You're Dunn.!!!!!!!!!

~peace out~

Maybe now someone owes Roger Ebert an apology. All he did was speak the truth. Would any one of us want a car flying at 130-plus miles per hour to plow into our car? Let's face reality. This guy messed up and had too little respect for his own life....not to mention his passenger/friend. Thank God none of us innocent drivers went with him.

Still....condolences to his family and friends. He should have thought about them too.....jackass.

That guy

wow. people in this world have become so violent as to say things about they hope he suffered and wish he lived so he could be in a wheelchair...

I am no fan of his work, but if you people really did wish that upon anyone, you are far worse than he ever was. Wishing anyone to go to hell, or live in torment, or suffer anything like this just because you didnt like what he did on a tv show is ridiculous.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves that you can so easily think these things. I would understand if he was a child rapist or terrorist, but because he made stupid decisions and filmed them? It makes me far more sick than anything this man ever did that your people would wish these things on him.
