Cops: Ryan Dunn Was VERY DRUNK During Crash

6/22/2011 10:55 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn was extremely intoxicated at the time of his fatal crash Monday morning ... with a blood alcohol level of more than TWICE the legal limit ... this according to cops.

West Goshen Police Chief Michael Carroll told the Daily Local News ... Dunn's B.A.C. was .196 ... nearly two-and-a-half times the legal limit in Pennsylvania, which is .08.

Carroll added, "No other substances were found in his blood other than the alcohol."

As TMZ reported, Dunn and his passenger were killed when Dunn lost control of his Porsche, crashed in a wooded area and his car exploded in flames.

UPDATE: Now cops are saying Dunn was traveling between 132 and 140 MPH at the time of his crash.

You're all ******** in my opinion. He was more than likely a good guy and you're bitching about a .19. Who cares how much he drank and from the amount of drinks he reportedly had he more than likely wasn't feeling drunk for blowing what he did. Speed was the factor, not the booze! Nobody could survive that cra***** those speeds drunk or sober. He obviously liked to live fast and have fun. Stop ruining his name bitching about the booze. This would have happened to anyone with 1 beer or none in their system. Rip Ryan. And his family should ignore all the lame ass jerkoffs slandering his name!!

He could have easily had a few drinks in a hotel room or at a friend's place or in another bar before he went to the bar he was photographed in.

Man did you see what was left of that car? Just a shred. And that railing, wow, just tore through that as well. He must have been going FAST!!

The real tragedy is that he didn't live long enough to get better and stop drinking. He could have been a better man. What with all that money he could have helped a lot of people out. Built schools, helped kids go to college, made a real positive difference. Sadly we just remember he stuck a toy up his arse.

This is a sad story, he had a Porsche doing a buck forty and drunk. He prob flew home from "his"bar every night feelin like a young man with a paid off Porsche, could of hit a bump who knows, still someone else is dead. Perhaps they were high fivin each other or perhaps the passenger was screaming at Dunn to slow down. we will never know. RIP thankfully no one else died.

I was so sad when I heard he passed away. Then, extremely disappointed to hear he was intoxicated. Thank goodness he didnt hit another car and kill others, in addition to his passenger. When will people get the idea that its bad to drive drunk. And, totally unnecessary. So sad for all involved.

Another stupid f**k bites the dust! Probably good that he removed himself fromt he gene pool so he couldn't pass that kind of stupidity along. Maybe he can go spend time with Thomas of the KC Chielfs who was killed some years back when he decided to drive his Jeep Grand Cherokee 110 mph on I-35 while it was slick with wet ice. Have fun compring those final moments you two!

Victor... I do not know what word are referring to by your "******" entry but I think you must be whatever it is you meant there. As a former First Responder, I question your statement that alcohol was not a factor in this crash. TWENTY PERCENT OF DUNN's BLOOD was ALCOHOL and you say it was not a 'FACTOR'????

Mind-Boggling....

Jeff;
Regarding Ebert's comments... let me review here -- First Amendment (Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press), check. Free Country, check. Yeah they're all still active!

If it wasn't for the above, this website would not exist and you would not be allowed to make such comments as telling another to 'shut his fat, f*****g mouth', without risking jail time.

As a matter of fact, if the above did not exist, the country would not have even KNOWN about this incident!

So, there's a conspiracy purportrated by who, the police and Roger Ebert, because you idiots don't know the difference between a toxicology report and a simple blood alcohol test.
My heart goes out to their families. Ryan Dunn was no hero and it was a crime that he was still allowed on the road at all.
The only good that might come out of this is the young people who idolise him might think twice the next time they want to get into a car while drunk.

How sad that someone makes a choice to drink and then to drive. Sadder yet that so many people can't see what harm is done by doing this, and having someone else stupid (yes!) enough to get in the car with them,..but because alcohol takes away the reasoning of anyone, even getting into the car was beyond how a drunk thinks. Sad, sad, sad.
But any death is still a big loss..to someone! RIP and hopefully, some one person may decide that drinking and driving (or riding with someone who is) is not the way to continue to live. JUST ONE PERSON...pray that all of your friends and yourself use this as a lesson to contribute to your own existence. We need ALL of you.

Omg, I'm soooo tired of reading how he MURDERED or KILLED his friend. His friend wasn't forced into his vehicle. His friend wasn't a minor who was just doing what he was told. His friend wasn't in another vehicle that they ran in to. His friend made the decision to get into a car with someone he himself was drinking with. Its not like he had no clue what he was doing. He could have said no, he could have called a sober friend or cab. But he didn't, just like Dunn didn't.

Also for people truly acting like ********:

The loss of life, regardless of the cir****tance is sad for friends and family. Whats even more sad is the fact that people here, the media, and everywhere are so jaded that any sense of empathy is completely non-existant.

Yes they could have killed someone else; yes people who drive drunk are asking for death. But two women lost sons, other's lost a brother, best friend etc. They didn't make the choice, and have to live on with the loss. And we should respect those enough to not act like heartless ********.

Wow. We only know what he drank at the bar. Who is to say he didn't have a few drinks elsewhere before hand. Everyone has done this...Get together with friends at home first have a few drinks then go out and drink more. Then if we are lucky make it home and drink some more. Maybe now since we see the results we will think this through.
