Cops: Ryan Dunn Was VERY DRUNK During Crash

6/22/2011 10:55 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn was extremely intoxicated at the time of his fatal crash Monday morning ... with a blood alcohol level of more than TWICE the legal limit ... this according to cops.

West Goshen Police Chief Michael Carroll told the Daily Local News ... Dunn's B.A.C. was .196 ... nearly two-and-a-half times the legal limit in Pennsylvania, which is .08.

Carroll added, "No other substances were found in his blood other than the alcohol."

As TMZ reported, Dunn and his passenger were killed when Dunn lost control of his Porsche, crashed in a wooded area and his car exploded in flames.

UPDATE: Now cops are saying Dunn was traveling between 132 and 140 MPH at the time of his crash.

USA Today:

Jackass star Ryan Dunn had received at least 23 driving citations in the 13 years before his fatal car accident Monday. Of Dunn's driving citations, 10 were for speeding and careless driving, and three more were for driving with a suspended license, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Among those, 90 percent of which ended in guilty pleas, was a 2005 DUI arrest. Charges were dropped when he completed a probationary program. His license was suspended for more than a year, court records show.

Well, then good. It's just one less douchebag that I need to worry about killing my loved ones on the road because they decided to drive drunk.

MORON! I cant believe people are "sad".... they should be LIVID, livid that this person, with legions of fans, can care so little about them, himself and his family, to get plastered and drive, what a MORON! I hope the family of the passenger, sues the hell out of Dunns estate, they were robbed.

Perhaps his friends will use this to set up some sort of free designated driver service. Perhaps they'll use it to create devices at bars where people can be tested before they leave the premises, so they know that their too drunk to drive home safely.

Hoping that something good comes out of this--other than press for Bam and his fellow Jackasses.

At first they didn't know if he was driving? The car wound up in a fireball, not sure if they were thrown or not? I'd want to see proof if I were the family just to make sure that the reported BAC was accurate? He probably was drinking before the bar if that figure is correct. Usually when you're buzzed you slow down so I'm sure the speeding wasn't the first time.

Rober Ebert was right on. This idiot was driving like a madman, he could have killed you, or someone you care about. He's an idiot, and BAM is an idiot too for defending him. Roger Ebert was a hero for being brave and bold enough to make that comment. You drink and drive at 130 mph? You deserve what you get. He was playing with fire.

Yeah, sure... he died and it's sad for his family. But take in mind that he was very drunk. Driving 130mph. He killed another person who nobody is crying but his family. Ryan Dun deserves nothing but a post-mortem scolding.

Drunk drivers make a deadly weapons out of cars. They deserve to die before the kill anyone else, because they will in a matter of time. Drunk drivers take the wheel not only when they're caught or die... they do it all the time. SO GOOD RIDDANCE!

You should notice a person with a .196 BAC!! Dunn is obviously at fault but so is the person that got in the car with him, the people that saw him get behind the wheel, and the people that served him this much alcohol. R.I.P

BYE BYE JACKASS the brand!!

His friends were lying when they said "he was not wasted", such a shame.

.....And, here come the lawsuits.

BYE BYE JACKASS THE BRAND

MTV will be DONE with them. Mark my words. MTV likes to be contraversial but with this report, I'm sure MTV doesn't want a BUNCH of kids trying to idolize the jackasses anymore.

I know I AM DONE with the Jackasses. And I even went to high school in San Luis Obispo with Chris Pontius, I just turned 35, I was a supporter from #1 and #2. I saw #3 and it was good. But, I won't even watch #3.5 or anything else that has to do with them.

Bye bye Jackass.

PS- Missy cut loose Bam before he takes you down with him.

Jackass is DONE. Next time take a shopping cart, guys.

That just shows you how reliable those "witnesses" are when they said that Ryan didn't appear drunk at all when he left the bar. Thanks for trying to cover his ass! It sure did him no good! I'm sure he had more to drink that the 3 lite beers and 3 shots that they claimed. His bar tender friend should really feel like a big jerk. Of all people, he should know better!
