Judge Crushes Plea Deal

In Willie Nelson Pot Case

7/7/2011 9:19 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Willie Nelson once again faces a year in jail over marijuana possession charges -- this after the judge in the case REJECTED a plea deal in which the singer would have gotten off with a $500 fine.

0707_willie_nelson

As we previously reported, Willie struck a plea bargain last month in West Texas -- in which prosecutors agreed to reduce his pot possession charge to misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia ... if the singer agreed to plead no contest.

Willie would have only had to pay a $500 fine -- but the judge outright rejected that deal Wednesday ... claiming the singer was getting special treatment.

According to the judge, Nelson should be charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession -- which could put him in jail for a year.

Let's see... Charlie Sheen leaves a trail of cocaine anywhere he goes and even admits to having a "brief case" full of coke delivered to his extended bender at his home and the Courts look the other way. Willie smokes a joint and gets a year in prison. Am I missing something???

I also disagreed with the Anthony verdict -- and the Heroids(King Herod on steroids) who slaughter babies -- but it still beats the hell out of mob rule.
And Willie -- he is a repeat, repeat, repeat offender. May we all choose a law we disagree with and ignore it without fear of retribution -- much like the outlaw immigrants(those who live outside the law).

We spend billions of dollars a year to enforce the law of Prohibition against a natural plant that mother earth has provided us. Our government isn't about we the people. The government is about we the Pharmaceutical drug companies.

Not even only Casey but in relation to drug charges Pari******on gets caught with coke she gets 2 weeks in jail the first time then the second time NOTHING, Bruno Mars found with felony possession of coke, gets NOTHING. Lindsay Lohan, DUI, what like 6 days in jail only because of a violation? Willie Nelson, possibly a year for freakin pot. Illegal or not its a freakin herb that doesnt kill people, its not that serious. This "justice" system is a pure JOKE.

Your missing the most important thing of all. It's Texas not California. You may as well be comparing apples and hub caps.

Hey Jay.

Casey did NOT run free. She DID three year in jail.

Lindsay did NOT run free. She DID time in jail for probation violation (cocaine). She WAS sentenced to 120 days in jail, 480hrs CS and 3 years probation.

Having said that. This is of course utter bollocks. There is a way out of this: Just vote people in office who want to stop the war of drugs. As long as you vote republicans in office stop complaining!!!

It's a simple case of Willie Nelson getting special treatment. Why should he get special treatment? You or I certainly wouldn't get any type of break, why should he?

Willie already has the luxury of being able to afford several high priced attorneys, so go to trial Mr. Nelson, and take your chances just like the rest of us would have to.

Newflash buddy. The vast majority of marijuana possession charges end in a plea bargain, not "taking your chances at trial like everyone else". Why the judge refused to accept this one is beyond me. Most courts and prosecutors DO NOT want to waste time and state resource on marijuana trials. They have bigger fish to fry, well unless it's Willie Nelson.

Everyone always complains that the rich and famous get away with everything. This is a judge that is saying no special treatment that Willie will be treated like everyone else and TMZ readers are still boohooing. WTF?

Willie Nelson is a repeat offender, it's not his first time. He needs to go to jail or get better at not getting caught. If that had been me, and I had been caught numerous times, I would be going to jail. I honestly don't know why you people are comparing this case to the Casey Anthony case, it's not even the same thing.

Some of you people make the most ridiculous comments, it's mind boggling how freaking dumb some of you are. Willie Freaking Nelson, does not give a damn about you, or the law and will continue to smoke as much as he wants.

What a HORRIBLE waste of money. Why are they charging on marijuana and a judge trying to fill the jails with a possession case. HOW DUMB ARE THEY THERE???

News flash to you buddy. This is his 4th time being arrested for possession. Try being arrested 4 times for the same crime and see if you get a slap on the wrist. Willie obviously is laughing at the court system and he met a judge that has finally said you're not special.
