Yeah i agree with keepersung. I am born and raised in Calgary and we say Calgary, Alberta not Calgary Canada. I have to say i have never seen the parade route as packed as it was today. Also there was some crazy people down there last night camping out to see the royal couple that is nuts, we took a drive down there at midnight and there was about 80 people or so. Yeeehawww stampede time.

A rodeo... just a rodeo?!?! It's the frickin' Calgary Stampede... "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth"!!!! Maybe TMZ should look that up! Being "White Hatted" at the Stampede is a big deal... many important world figures who have attended the Calgary Stampede have been White Hatted.

@ Bob....I am Canadian and I like the royal family, so your statement is wrong...the ones trying to rid themselves of your so called monarchy, as you put it , are young people thinking its cool to bash them. I think most of this problem lies within Quebec, but them most of them cant get a long with anyone.
I dont care what Americans say about of our royal family, they go just as starry eyed over them as anyone else..I would sooner have the British than the American royals aka the Kennedy's....This wonderful young couple William and Kate, are very real, and enjoy being with people anyone can see that..and by the way they looked darn good in their western gear.

Then it's the Stampede not any rodeo and it's Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Also I don't think it can be called a tour in the US, they're spending barely 2 days in L.A. They're not scheduled to go anywhere else in the country. It's a quick visit there.

@fran I'm from Québec and I love the royal family. Like we can't generalize the "hate of monarchy" to ALL Canadians, you can't generalize that same "hate" to ALL Quebecers.

It is not accurate that the vast majority of Canadians do not support the monarchy. The article you link to hardly supports your position. In fact, the title of the article itself explicitly states that Canadians are divided on the issue.

Following the current Royal visit, one might safely predict that the Royals will enjoy a spike in popularity.
