@Trayphin, you're quite correct. She is now Catherine Windsor, Duchess of Cambridge. And the "rodeo" they were attending is the Calgary Stampede, which is internationally renowned and has the richest payouts of any rodeo in the world.

First, get your damn facts straight! I'm sick and tired about every stupid media calling her Kate Middleton! Like it was said, it's Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge! Or Catherine Mountbatten-Windsor or Catherine Cambridge after her title. Or the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to simplify your work *roll eyes*.

Then it's the Stampede not any rodeo and it's Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Also I don't think it can be called a tour in the US, they're spending barely 2 days in L.A. They're not scheduled to go anywhere else in the country. It's a quick visit there.

@fran I'm from Québec and I love the royal family. Like we can't generalize the "hate of monarchy" to ALL Canadians, you can't generalize that same "hate" to ALL Quebecers.

My direct forefathers first came to the Eastern Seaboard around 1640. A bit more than 10 generations here. I was born and raised in the West. Most certainly American. I have heard of the Calgary Stampede. The majority of my friends have also. It's a BIG DEAL. The big deal surrounding Prince William and Kate is primarily because his mother Princess Diana caught the American eye and was loved and or respected by the majority of Americans of her generation. Worldwide many people have followed him through life because of his mother, not because of his father. If you are o*****eneration that was raised since Diana's visits to America and perhaps her death, then I suggest you read about her and how she effected so man people worldwide.

If any reader believes the Royal, as head of state for England/Great Brittan doesn't matter, then I suggest you read up on the true constitutional powers of the British Monarch. As an example, did you know that every morning the Queen currently receives a full box and briefing concerning all matters of the British Government, including the most secret items and all troop briefings etc, and all before the Prime Minister receives his briefing. Hers takes priority. Also the Prime Minister serves at her pleasure and she can dismiss him at any time? The Queen of England currently has more powers over the English government than the President of the US had over the American Government.
