Dog's Target -- Running from Armed Robbery Charges

7/14/2011 5:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The man Dog Chapman was looking to apprehend during a raid in Colorado last week is a dangerous dude who allegedly broke into a home with a semi-automatic pistol ... this according to cops.

Chapman was bounty hunting a man named Laurencio Salayandia -- who was charged with first degree burglary for allegedly participating in an armed robbery back in 2008. Salayandia went MIA after missing a court hearing ... but Dog vowed to find him and bring him to justice.

According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, Salayandia and two other men -- armed with .38 caliber pistols -- allegedly smashed a window and entered a Colorado home looking to ransack the place.

Dog claims he finally tracked Salayandia to the La Montana Linda Restaurant in Breckenridge last week ... and was ready to apprehend the guy  ... when all hell broke loose.

As TMZ first reported, Dog claims his team was rushed by several patrons who were trying to create a diversion so Salayandia could escape. A fight broke out ... and Dog left without his target.

We spoke to Salayandia's son -- owner of the restaurant -- who tells us he hasn't seen his dad in 6 months ... and claims the suspect "definitely" wasn't at the restaurant on the day of the raid.

0713_the_showdown_video_ex_smallDog's rep tells TMZ ... Chapman and his team are not giving up ... and will continue to track Salayandia.

So he has no legal ability to enter any part of the restaurant that isn't public which they did(since the owner didn't give permission), assaulted people which they have no legal right to do. I am amazed that none of these guys get shot or beat badly when they enter a place they have no legal right to enter (only criminals property) and try to pull a heavy when they don't have the authority to do it. One of the rights you do have is freedom of speech which one member of his team doesn't recognize! No wonder they aren't involved in actual law enforcement basic concepts seem a tad hard for them to grasp.

The truth is that bounty hunters should be done away with like in almost every other country in the world. Dog found that out when he kidnapped that guy in Mexico or the bounty hunter who entered Canada and ended up doing time for kidnapping in jail there.

Duane Lee "Dog" Chapman and his team have built a reputation of doing more good for society (by putting fugitives behind bars) then some of society wants to give them credit for. Clearly, success makes people jealous of you.

Bunch of nonsense about a non-event. Dog takes dangerous felons off the street and was accosted by drunks in a bar and defended themselves after being attacked. No charges so it is obvious the people informing TMZ are liars and after cash

What Sonny was trying to say is he IS NOT a superstar so they could try if they wanted to to push him into a fight and he would respond accordingly. The stars and other celebrities, all know people try to get rich off of goading them into a fight, so they mostly have to look the other way. It's hard for a bounty hunter to do his job and look the other way. Thank god though Leland and Duane Lee weren't there to be caught up in that stupid mess. Since when is White Boy a slur. It's a definition.

I actually got to see Dog and his family when they were here to capture this guy in Colorado and I am a long time viewer of the show and after the attitude and rudeness that Baby Lisa showed when we said HI to her I will never see her the same way that I use to.
